Company DescriptionAre you a detail-driven accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced project environment? As a Project Accountant, you’ll be a trusted financial partner on high-impact construction projects, supporting cost-plus, IPD, and Construction Management work from start-up through close-out. You’ll work closely with Project Managers, Directors, and Accounting teams to ensure accurate billings, strong financial controls, and compliance – while helping projects run smoothly and profitably. This position may be based in any Chandos office (Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer, Kelowna, Vancouver, Toronto, Ottawa).What You’ll DoManage project billings, contract reviews, and billing setup to capture all recoverable costsPrepare and review monthly billings with Project Managers and respond to client inquiriesPerform billing audits, job cost adjustments, and variance analysisMonitor receivables, lien timelines, prompt payment requirements, and pay-when-paid termsOversee subcontractor invoicing, payment controls, and compliance documentationPartner with Accounts Payable on cost processing, accruals, and payment filesSupport forecasting, reporting, and project status reviewsAct as a subject matter expert on complex IPD and CM projects and mentor team membersQualificationsDiploma in Accounting4‑year university degree in Business/Finance in progress or completed is an asset5+ years of experience in Accounts Payable or Accounts ReceivableExperience in the construction industry is an assetComputer literate, with effective working skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and OutlookPreferred QualificationsAble to adapt to and learn software (e.g., Viewpoint)Able to work efficiently as part of a team and/or independentlyGood organizational skillsAble to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organizationResults‑focusedAble to interpret and implement company policies and proceduresGood attention to detail in all areas of workWhat We OfferCompetitive wagesA comprehensive, employer‑paid benefits program, including health, dental, vision care, and an employee assistance programRRSP matching to support long‑term financial securityEducational assistance for job-related and career-enhancing developmentRecognition programs and annual salary reviewsLeadership conferences that foster connection and collaborationRegular company-wide engagement opportunitiesChandos is an equal‑opportunity employer committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace.
