This course examines the increasing importance of management accounting in an organization and its contributions to the strategic management process and explores current research in the areas of strategy, ethics and governance, sustainability and accountability. Many stakeholders expect organizations to adopt strategies and engage in behaviours that are sustainable for the long‑run and contribute to the long‑run sustainability of the society. This course engages four interrelated concepts: strategy, ethics and governance, sustainability and accountability. The course also deals with the integrative and interdisciplinary role of management accountants and their ability to use both qualitative and quantitative information in the planning, controlling and decision‑making processes. The performance assessment and cost containment systems within an organization will also be reviewed. The course focuses on critical thinking skills and applying knowledge to situations encountered in professional practice through the Job Details MAccFin Sessional Instructional Assistant – Summer 2026. The following positions for Sessional Instructional Assistants are available in the Department of Management Scarborough for Summer academic session. This job is posted in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement. It is understood that some announcements of vacancies are tentative, pending final course determinations and enrolment. Summer 2026 Session Dates: May 4, 2025 - August 31, 2025 or May 4, July 31, 2025. Note: All positions involve completion of all course grading. Minimum Qualifications A CPA designation or successful completion of CFE with experience developing marking rubrics and marking cases. Preference is given to candidates who recently obtained their CPA designation or recently passed the CFE and understands the new CPA process. Preferred Qualifications A CPA designation and prior experience marking cases and rubrics. Relevant Criterion Previous experience is the more relevant criterion than the need to acquire experience in respect of this posted position. Duties Prepare marking rubrics, marking and providing detailed comments (both oral and written) to students on case assignments, midterm and final exams, and recording the grades. Provide detailed feedback of student’s performance and learning strategies to instructor.
