Azure Databricks Engineer/Developer We are seeking a Sr. Developer with 8 to 12 years of experience, specializing in Databricks, PySpark, and Azure Data. The ideal candidate will work in a hybrid model, focusing on developing and optimizing data solutions. Experience in Life and Annuities Insurance is a plus. This role involves no travel and operates during day shifts, contributing to impactful projects that drive our company’s success. Responsibilities Develop and implement scalable data solutions using Databricks and PySpark to enhance data processing capabilities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and optimize data architectures on Azure Data platforms. Provide technical expertise in data integration and transformation processes to ensure seamless data flow. Analyze complex data sets to identify trends and insights that support business objectives. Ensure data quality and integrity through rigorous testing and validation procedures. Optimize performance of data pipelines to improve efficiency and reduce processing time. Document technical specifications and maintain comprehensive records of data processes. Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues to minimize disruptions in data operations. Stay updated with the latest advancements in data technologies to drive innovation. Contribute to the development of best practices for data management and governance. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs. Mentor junior developers to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices. Qualifications Possess extensive experience in Databricks, PySpark, and Azure Data, demonstrating a strong technical foundation. Have a solid understanding of data integration and transformation processes ensuring efficient data flow. Experience in Life and Annuities Insurance is advantageous, providing domain-specific insights. Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex data issues. Exhibit excellent communication skills enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams. Show a commitment to continuous learning, staying updated with the latest data technologies. Display a proactive approach to optimizing data solutions, contributing to overall business success. Based on the role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2‑3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto, ON.
