We’re proud of our work helping to expand and improve Canada’s infrastructure and transportation networks, and we’re ready to build the future of our country.We are currently looking for our next bilingual Project Controls Manager to join our team at our Montreal project office location to support our major projects within our civil east division.What You’ll Do Here:Project Controls Systems & ToolsSet project controls guidelines and responsibilities within a business unit or Project Execution Plan, as well as implement tools and systems necessary to effectively and proactively manage, control, and report on earned value management, cashflow, cost, revenue, forecasting and schedule (progress and projection) for projectsProvide guidance to project controls and operations/project management teams to recognize emerging issues, leverage lessons learned and drive toolset/process adoption, ensure accuracy of key project metrics in a timely manner, and adherence to corporate guidelines and best practicesCollaborate with Estimating, Operations and Finance personnel to develop methodologies that will enhance accuracy of project level financial forecastingProject SetupAttend and contribute to Handover and Kick-Off meetingsProvide project controls input on the commercial, administrative and reporting requirements during project setupCollaborates with Estimating, Operations and Finance in project setup to ensure best practices are followed and project team requirements are setSchedulingOversees scheduling functions to ensure projects meet standards and target completion datesOversees the management of the progression of the Schedule throughout the project life-cycleOversees contributions to the Baseline ScheduleManage the administrative procedures relating to Schedule updatesOversee all schedule analysis and forecasting reportingContribute to all change management scheduling activitiesProgress & Cost TrackingConducts detailed review and analysis of project performance control and reporting to understand and articulate key metrics and trendingEnsure management is provided with timeline review and progress of all projects and activity including completion of monthly project status report and forecasting reporting and endorse suggested corrective actions to maintain the project within planned cost and scheduleEnsures that tracking and forecasting, progress monitoring, cost reporting meet specific project requirementsReviews and approves all project controls reportingEnsures the preparation and updating of project cash flows and forecasting as required throughout the project life-cycleScope & Change ManagementOversees and supports project change management, including subcontractor claims, change requests, claims and dispute resolutionIdentifies commercial risks and develops mitigation measures to ensure project control deliverablesIdentify opportunities of Project Controls improvement for management review and considerationDevelop,update and manageRisk Mitigation PlanCollaborate on commercial Risk Identification and Assessment activitiesPeople ManagementCreates and maintains a culture and environment that is open and respectfulHire, supervise, coach, develop and mentor project controls personnel (ie Project Controls Specialist, Lead, Cost Controller, Planner / Scheduler)Communicates with Senior Leadership to ensure adequate resources are providedCommunicationKey partner to Estimators, Project Managers, Operations teams and Senior LeadershipCommunicates with external clients, client groups and partners, vendors and subcontractors as requiredWhat You Bring to the Team:Undergraduate degree in Business or Engineering, or equivalent10-15 years construction industry experienceProven experience and ability in planning, scheduling, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, estimating and cost controlStrong knowledge of the “Earned Value Management” principlesAbility to produce, read and modify schedules and scheduling curves/reportsNatural leader and team builder who can build strong relationships quicklyProven ability to effectively lead project controls staffProven strong analytical skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly identify and articulate issues; Proven problem solver with sound judgment who accepts ownership and accountabilityAbility to work effectively with all levels of management and employeesDetail oriented and customer focusedProficient with Microsoft Office SuiteKnowledge of SAP and required project controls software which may include Primavera, Hard Dollar, AccubidAecon fosters diversity, inclusion and belonging within and across our organization.
