Organizational Description Valley Gardens Community Center is a growing recreational facility that offers programs, recreation and drop‑in opportunities to the members of its community. VGCC serves East Kildonan, North Kildonan and Transcona areas. Volunteer Opportunity Details Volunteer Opportunity ID: 3141 Description of Duties Valley Gardens Community Centre is in East Kildonan and provides Mini TimBits soccer, which kicks off in May. Convening TimBits/Micro soccer at VGCC Working with Phoenix Soccer Club Leading and growing the soccer programs at VGCC Determining charges and costs for programs Maintaining a budget Recruiting coaches and assistants Purchasing and maintaining equipment and uniforms Serving on the board of directors for the club Skills Required Organizational skills Computer experience Ability to work with others, team‑building and cooperation Budget maintenance Skills Gained / Related Careers Collaborating within a group dynamic and holding a board of directors seat Leadership skills Team management and cooperation Community service and public speaking Eligibility Age: 18‑30, 31‑54, 55+ Location of opportunity: Winnipeg, Manitoba Criminal record check required: Yes Child abuse registry check required: Yes Cost reimbursed: Yes Time Commitment Evenings and weekends.
