Position Summary: Hatch is currently looking for a Civil Engineering Student interested in the field of Structural Engineering to assist the Structural Discipline in Hatch, Sudbury. The role is to provide model review, analysis and design support, inspection assistance, research of material for the Engineers and other Technologists. Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings, design calculations, material takeoff, literature review, technical specifications, and reports for energy and industrial projects.
  2. Use of CAD tools for 2D drawings and 3D modelling.
  3. Analyze using analytical tools to develop FEM models under the supervision of engineers.
  4. Provide field support for inspection, progress reporting and assessment for various ongoing construction and condition assessment tasks.
  5. Interface with field staff and support project site work, as necessary.
Qualifications:
  1. Civil Engineering student with interest in Structural Engineering registered with a recognized post-secondary institution.
  2. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  3. Demonstrated writing and oral communication skills.
  4. Familiarity with Microsoft Office software.
  5. Exposure to CADD software.
  6. Must be able to work in a team environment.
  7. Extracurricular involvement; enthusiastic and ambitious.
