Role Overview

The Vice President of Product is a brand new role and will provide strategic leadership across goeasy's diverse product portfolio, including credit card products, unsecured loans, secured loans, and more. This role will lead the product management function, set the strategic direction, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure all product initiatives are executed with excellence and deliver measurable impact. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Marketing & Products, the Vice President, Product will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's long-term product vision and driving the execution of strategic goals to fuel sustainable growth.

This role will oversee the development and execution of goeasy's product strategies, fostering innovation, growth, and market competitiveness. This role will work closely with marketing, operations, and technology teams to ensure that goeasy's product offerings align with both customer needs and business objectives, positioning the company for continued success in a dynamic market.

What You'll Be Doing:

Product Strategy, Development & Execution

  • Lead the creation and execution of a unified product strategy across all product lines, aligning with overall company objectives.
  • Oversee the end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation through development, launch, and continuous optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, technology, finance, operations) to build and launch innovative products that meet market demands and enhance customer experience.
  • Drive the development of new products, features, and pricing models to ensure competitiveness in the market and maximize profitability.

Portfolio Management & Growth Optimization

  • Own the overall P&L for goeasy's product portfolio, ensuring strong growth, profitability, and cost efficiency.
  • Monitor product performance and identify opportunities for revenue expansion, cost optimization, and operational efficiencies.
  • Lead efforts to continuously improve product offerings using data analytics, customer feedback, and market research.
  • Oversee the management and performance of strategic partnerships across product lines.

Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Lead a team of product managers and cross-functional teams to execute on product goals and deliver market-leading solutions.
  • Build, mentor, and retain high-performing product teams with a strong focus on inclusion, development, and succession planning.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and high performance within the product management team.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including risk, finance, marketing, and technology teams, to drive alignment on business priorities.
  • Represent goeasy in key partner negotiations, working to secure beneficial partnerships and market opportunities.

Innovation & Customer-Centric Focus

  • Drive continuous innovation within the product suite, keeping goeasy ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Ensure that customer insights and feedback are central to all product development processes, enhancing customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Spearhead the creation of personalized product offerings that meet the needs of goeasy's diverse customer base.

Risk & Compliance Management

  • Ensure that all product offerings are compliant with regulatory requirements, risk management frameworks, and industry standards.
  • Work closely with risk management and compliance teams to mitigate risks related to product development and execution.

What Experience You Bring:

  • 12+ years of experience in product strategy, product management, and P&L leadership, with a proven track record in the financial services or consumer lending industries.
  • Strong experience in developing and managing consumer-facing products, including credit cards, loans, and point-of-sale financing.
  • Expertise in driving growth and profitability through effective product strategies, pricing models, and customer acquisition channels.
  • Extensive experience leading cross-functional teams in high-growth environments.
  • Strong financial acumen, with the ability to analyze financial metrics, optimize costs, and drive revenue growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with senior executives and stakeholders across an organization.
  • A customer-centric mindset, with a passion for building products that improve the financial well-being of everyday Canadians.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, marketing, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
