The Sales and Marketing Manager is responsible for overseeing both the sales process and marketing initiatives of the organization to ensure excellent client experiences, sustainable business growth, and the development of tools that strengthen brand awareness. This position involves supporting client relationships, developing proposals and RFP responses, meeting sales targets, acquiring new opportunities, and supporting the delivery of high‑quality marketing initiatives. The Sales and Marketing Manager ensures all sales and marketing activities align with organizational values and standards of service. ACCOUNTABILITY: Reporting to the Director, the Sales and Marketing Manager will oversee the administrative and operational aspects of sales and marketing. This includes managing client‑facing engagements, coordinating with internal teams, developing tools and templates, and supporting brand growth in collaboration with internal and external partners. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: This role supports Naut’sa mawt Event Management (NEM) as a whole, as well as the unique sales and marketing needs of its three service departments: Event Planning, Reporting, and Arts & Experience. The Sales and Marketing Manager plays a central role in promoting and strengthening NEM’s overall brand presence, while tailoring strategies and materials to highlight the distinct offerings and expertise of each department. Sales responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Oversee the end‑to‑end sales process which includes directly and/or assisting the team in responding to inquiries, drafting proposals, quotations, RFP responses, and grant applications, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely submission. Managing client relationships through proactive communication and excellent service. Developing and maintaining sales tools, templates, and resources for the organization. Acquiring new opportunities and maintaining a robust pipeline of prospective clients. Achieving sales targets in alignment with organizational goals. Coordinating with internal departments to ensure smooth project and client handovers. Maintaining accurate sales records and data in the CRM system (Monday.com). Marketing responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Overseeing organizational social media channels and online presence. Creating and scheduling engaging social media content, using Canva as a primary design tool. Collaborating with sister company Indigenous Marketing to create marketing assets and campaigns. Updating website with new and relevant content. Monitoring analytics and engagement to assess the effectiveness of marketing initiatives. Supporting the development of communications and promotional materials. Contributing to brand consistency and alignment across platforms and communications. Performance of professional administrative and clerical duties in accordance with Naut’sa mawt Event Management approved practices, policies, and service standards including: Maintaining accurate update of electronic/hard copy filing system and company CRM. Opening, sorting, scanning, copying, emailing, and distributing incoming/outgoing correspondence/documents when applicable. Accurate update of information into company CRM. Participation in staff meetings, one‑on‑one meetings, staff retreats, strategic planning sessions and other staff events as requested by Director and CEO. Participating in Indigenous cultural training and remaining up to date on Indigenous cultural practices, traditions, and best practices in event management, to enhance the representation and experience of Indigenous events. Monitoring areas of responsibility for opportunities for improvement and innovation and working proactively to implement these ideas. Carrying out other duties as assigned that are essential to the position as directed. EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience in sales and/or marketing roles. Experience drafting proposals, RFPs, grant applications, and client communications. Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams). Proficient in Canva for social media content creation. Experience working with CRM systems. Experience working with WordPress considered an asset. Familiarity with government procurement strategies and practices, particularly related to proposal and RFP processes. Experience working with Indigenous communities considered an asset. Knowledge of sponsorship development and fulfillment practices, including the ability to contribute to the creation of sponsorship packages, tools, and metrics considered an asset. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Strong knowledge of sales processes, client relationship management, and marketing practices. Ability to work independently with limited direction, managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster client trust and team collaboration. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail in proposals, marketing, and correspondence. Sound problem‑solving and analytical skills when working under pressure. Creative mindset with the ability to design and deliver compelling marketing content. OTHER: This is a predominantly remote position for those located within the Lower Mainland BC or Vancouver Island area. Ability to attend in‑person meetings in Vancouver/Vancouver Island and events across Canada is a requirement. May be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays on occasion. Salary range: $73,000–$78,000 annually depending on experience, with comprehensive benefits and up to 7% RRSP matching.
