CNC Shop Team Lead

OverviewThe CNC Shop Team Lead is a hands-on leader responsible for overseeing daily operations in the CNC machining department. This role supports production goals by setting up and operating various CNC machines, mentoring team members, and ensuring high-quality, efficient machining practices. The Team Lead also serves as the point of contact when the Machine Shop Supervisor is unavailable. As the Team Lead, you will be leading a team of 8 machinists/operators. Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 2:15 PM - 12:45 AM.ResponsibilitiesInterpret complex manufacturing drawings and technical specificationsSet up and operate a range of CNC machines, including:Okuma MB5000HMazak QTN 350-IIMazak VCN-530CDoosan MX2500 LSTTrain and mentor both new and existing machinists to ensure consistent work quality and safetyPerform basic preventive maintenance and calibration on CNC equipment and toolingTroubleshoot and resolve routine CNC machining issues to maintain production flowMay perform CNC programming tasks to support afternoon shift needsExecute daily production plans as directed by scheduling and leadershipWork independently while adhering to standard operating procedures and safety protocolsMonitor and report on daily department performance and production metricsEnsure all required paperwork and documentation is completed accurately and submitted on timeTroubleshoot production issues and coordinate additional support as requiredProvide leadership coverage and act as the department lead in the absence of the CNC SupervisorOther duties as assigned by your managerEducation And ExperienceProven ability to perform all tasks required of CNC team members, with a strong understanding of machining processes, safety protocols, and quality standardsMust hold and maintain all necessary certifications and licenses required for CNC operationsCompletion of formal training in a relevant tradeRed Seal Journeyperson Machinist certification or equivalent qualification preferredMinimum of 10 years of hands-on experience as a CNC MachinistPreferred: At least 3 years in a lead or supervisory role; a combination of relevant education and experience may be consideredFamiliarity with Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques, including 5S, Kanban, and One-Piece FlowMust be legally authorized to work in CanadaBenefitsDental careEmployee assistance programExtended health careLife insuranceOn-site parkingPaid time offRRSP matchVision careBonus Pay #J-18808-Ljbffr
