To be successful in this role, you will possess considerable knowledge and experience in planning and managing the execution and installation of various medical imaging devices within a healthcare environment. Reporting to theSite Manager, Capital Redevelopment,the Project Manager is accountable to manage, organize, monitor and orchestrate approved capital projects, as assigned by the Manager, from inception through to project close-out, some of which may occur concurrently. The Project Manager will be a key team member of the Capital Development team for planning and executing projects required to update the hospital’s aging medical imaging equipment (MR, CT, X-Ray).The Project Manager ensures that all projects comply, as may be required, with the directions outlined in the MOHLTC Capital Planning Manual, relevant procurement guidelines outlined in the Broader Public Sector Procurement Directive (BPS) and identified by the hospital, and all applicable building codes.In this role you will:Manage, organize, monitor and orchestrate approved capital projects from inception through to project close-out, some of which may occur concurrentlyWork collaboratively with a wide variety of project stakeholders to ensure project timelines and deliverables are met and are in alignment with the Health System’s mission, vision and values and strategic directionsDeliver projects in close collaboration and coordinate with Medical Imaging Department, Infection Control and Safety departmentsMeet with users to evaluate their needs, investigate options and make high level recommendations on approaches to resolve their needs or challengesOversee risk assessments related to construction, imaging technology installation, and patient safety.Translate user requirements into a high level functional plan, with or without the use of specialty consultants depending upon size of projectDevelop technical RFPs (e.g. purchase of goods such as furniture, equipment, and services of architects, engineers, and contractors on different projects), evaluate RFPs and ensure compliance with Sinai Health Policies and ProceduresManage the consulting team and verify work performed by the architects, engineers, and other specialty consultantsEnsure that all contractors have appropriate documentation and approval to undertake the work, identifying and addressing non-conformances when necessary, evaluating the cause of project related non-conformances and, coordinate remedial actionVerifies completion of the remedial activities and reports the results to ManagerUtilize expert level negotiation skills and conflict resolution strategies to work with external and internal stakeholders, obtaining buy-in and support to ensure the success of projects and achievement of win-win strategies for all partiesAbility to develop project schedules (Microsoft Project), implement and continuously monitor schedule activities and manage schedule risk mitigationDevelop and manage project budgets for Sinai Health user/Capital Finance approvalCoordinate with hospital radiation protection specialists, Health Canada, and imaging equipment vendors to ensure proper licensing, and installationMonitor and report on approved budget spend, commitments, forecast and cost-to-dateProcess vendor invoices for paymentJob RequirementsJob Requirements:MandatoryUniversity Degree or College Diploma in Architecture, Planning or Engineering, or a related field5-7 years’ of progressive management experience in planning and managing the replacement of medical imaging devices and associated construction activities within a health care environmentApplicants with proven equivalent, recent and related training and experience may be consideredExperience with facility and equipment commissioning and orientationSignificant experience managing, organizing and orchestrating complex projects from inception through to project close-outDemonstrated experience preparing and negotiating contractsPreferredBachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related fieldSkills and KnowledgeDemonstrated knowledge and understanding of medical imaging devices (MR, CT, X-Ray, etc.)Strong understanding of medical imaging devices including their physical and technical requirementsDemonstrated knowledge of project management processes and methodologiesComplex project management skills and experience with an ability to manage multiple projectsStrong leadership and coaching qualities with the ability to engage, motivate and lead small to large teams, resolve team conflicts and work collaboratively with partnering agencies to achieve overarching project goalsAbility to understand technical and detailed construction drawings and specificationsProven ability to effectively hire, manage and supervise contractors, sub-contractors and tradespeopleDemonstrated track record of delivering results, effectively driving culture, fiscal control and developing self and others through coaching, mentoring and formal processesKnowledge of Ministry of Health master planning, capital budgeting, facility designs and construction processes and familiarity with health care delivery systems requiredExceptional analytical and information-seeking skills that contribute to effective decision-making and strategic planning and execution of action plans that deliver results and motivate individuals for greater performance excellenceAbility to function effectively, managing multiple demands, in a fast paced, multi-site environment with competing priorities and time constraintsAbility to work with a diverse group of and stakeholders with demonstrated success in moving key stakeholders to positive resolutionFamiliarity with CCDC contractsFamiliarity with design profession contracts such as OAA, RAIC and ARIDOFamiliarity with Ontario Building Code, CSA Z-8000 and CSA Z317 InfectionControl Proficient with AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, Outlook and PowerPoint, Familiarity with Revit, BIM, would be an
