Strategic Accounts Manager, at Morson Edge | Powering industry with specialist talent SENIOR TELECOM ENGINEER Location: Burnaby, BC Contract Duration: 12 months Pay Rate: $85.21 to $103.11 per hour Start Date: January 1, 2026 Base pay range CA$85.21/hr - CA$103.11/hr EXPERIENCE AND ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES A minimum eight (8) years of experience in a relevant engineering field or equivalent. Develop safe engineering solutions by using initiative and judgement to perform tasks including developing designs, analyzing and resolving problems, and interpreting engineering specifications on medium complexity and scope assignments for projects and operations. Assist project or operations management to meet safety, cost, quality, and time objectives by proposing changes in plans and estimated costs, recommending payment for work completed by contractors, preparing progress reports, coordinating work schedules and other similar tasks. Resolve highly technical and unusual design and field engineering problems by conducting independent studies and analysis, exercising independent judgment in selecting and interpreting information, recommending safe engineering designs to support successful operations and/or project completion. Participate in engineering practice by conducting independent studies and analysis, contributing to the development of technical standards, exercising judgment in selecting and interpreting information, recommending safe engineering designs, and making decisions related to methods and designs as well as providing guidance and advice to other engineering professionals to develop future capability. The company uses Digital Sign and Seal Technology. Deliver exceptional customer service by communicating with stakeholders and performing activities such as defining the scope of engineering services to be provided, establishing the basic design criteria, approving all related technical documentation, and assessing and reporting on work progress against standards, objectives, and specifications to support completion of projects safely, with quality, within budget and on time. Prepare signed and sealed engineering deliverables as a Professional of Record (PoR) in accordance with EGBC and the company design practices. Provide technical assistance and construction support in the field and undertakes field reviews as required by EGBC. As "Owner's Engineer", review external service providers' engineering designs to ensure technical compliance to the company Standards, good design practices and constructability requirements. Comply with company Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) Practices, Engineering Design Practices, and meets all regulatory compliance requirements applicable to their role. Provide guidance and instructions, advice and technical guidance to other engineers and technical support staff. Conduct peer reviews of other designers to ensure accuracy, achievement of required results, and adherence to accepted engineering practices. Resolve site queries, attending site meetings and performing site inspections during the construction phase of projects. Maintain complete project documentation with respect to the design and construction, including all completion packages, records, and requirements. Maintain appropriate commitments to project teams, and coordinates design activities with multidisciplined project team members. Fulfill functional role of Project Engineer as assigned, and coordinates design activities with multi-disciplined project team. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering recognized by Canadian Universities. Registered, or eligible for immediate registration, as a Professional Engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC). The individual shall be proficient with EGBC quality management guidelines, continuing education requirements and code of ethics. A minimum of 8 years of progressive and comprehensive engineering experience in the design and engineering of telecommunications systems Proactive in ongoing professional and personal development activities such as self-study, attendance at technical and administrative courses and participation in technical and professional societies. Excellent leadership, communications (verbal and written), technical writing, interpersonal, and presentation skills are required. Good understanding of project and task management processes. Prior experience with IP/MPLS, LTE, WiMAX, DACS, SONET, microwave systems, teleprotection circuits, antennas and towers, grounding, and other telecom technologies will be considered an asset.
