As a valued member of our recreation team, you will assume responsibility for providing high quality care while maintaining a safe and healthy environment for residents and staff. This position is for our Kawartha Lakes home, located in Lindsay, ON. Available opportunities: Part-Time What You’ll Be Doing Plan, implement, evaluate, develop and revise both individual and group activation programs based on assessed needs under the guidance of the Supervisor. Set up and clean activity area as necessary and transport residents to and from programs. Monitor the behavior and condition of residents during programs and report any significant changes to the Supervisor and nursing staff as appropriate. Maintain program and resident records according to department policy. Communicate participation by residents to registered staff. What You Bring Proof of successful completion of an approved Recreation and Leisure Services /Gerontology Diploma or Degree program from a post-secondary institution in any jurisdiction equivalent to Ontario, or Skills and experience in a health care or similar setting Knowledge and demonstrated experience in one-one/group program planning, care planning, resident assessments, implementation, and evaluation for geriatric population especially those cognitively impaired is preferred Experience with an older adult population an asset Strong customer and resident service skills.
