YouTube Coordinating Producer, CBC News (English Services) (Telework/Hybrid) Position Title: YouTube Coordinating Producer, CBC News (English Services) (Telework/Hybrid) Primary Location: Broadcast Centre 205 Wellington St. W., Toronto, Ontario, M5V 3G7 Number of Openings: 1 Work Schedule: Full time Employment Type: Full‑time Senior Level: Mid‑Senior level Status of Employment: Permanent Job Summary: The CBC News network social and audience team seeks a YouTube Producer to lead and coordinate all live and on‑demand news content on our CBC News YouTube channel. The role requires expertise in video storytelling, YouTube analytics, and editorial leadership to create engaging content for younger and diverse audiences. The candidate will work closely with news programming and investigative shows to package, upload, and promote content. Job Responsibilities Coordinate workflows and assign live and on‑demand stories for the CBC News YouTube channel. Oversee packaging of videos with optimized titles, descriptions, tagging, and thumbnail design. Manage all livestream coverage plans with breaking news and special programming; provide regular analytics and establish best‑practice reports. Liaise with News Network, shows, and regions to position content effectively. Identify platform trends and experiment with new vertical video storytelling formats. Collaborate with investigative shows Marketplace and The Fifth Estate to optimize and distribute their content on YouTube. Train, coach, and provide feedback to collaborators across the News division and new staff. Co‑manage platform best‑practice meetings for CBC English services. Relevant Qualifications 5 to 7 years journalism experience, including at least three years in social or video production. Track record of interpreting YouTube analytics for best‑practice improvements. Excellent writing and copy‑editing skills. Excellent packaging and publishing skills for YouTube. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in high‑pressure situations. Experience leading training sessions or workshops. Knowledge of CBC editorial policies and journalistic standards. Ability to work independently and source material from archives, Media Central, and other units. Availability for flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Stellar communication and collaboration skills. Cross‑cultural awareness and sensitivity. Open mindset. University degree or equivalent experience. Background Check Mandatory criminal record check.
