The HS&E Training Specialist plays a key role in advancing Ledcor’s commitment to health, safety, and environmental excellence. Using your specialist knowledge, you will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of comprehensive training programs that ensure compliance with HS&E requirements across the organization.In this role, you will collaborate closely with leadership across our Operating Groups to identify training needs, strengthen the HS&E Management System, and deliver consistent, tailored training solutions that enhance performance, reduce risk, and foster a culture of safety and compliance.This position is based out of any of our main offices in Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto or Saskatoon supporting our corporate division. If you are looking to expand your career and develop within Ledcor, this is a great opportunity to build your expertise and contribute to our company-wide impact.Essential ResponsibilitiesOversee the design, development and maintenance of advanced training materials within the learning management system, including scripting for various HS&E scenarios, presentations, and interactive modules, to convey intricate HS&E processes, regulatory compliance requirements, and organizational policiesEnsure training programs comply with all relevant regulatory requirements and industry standardsIdentify and align HS&E training opportunities applicable to all stakeholder groups across LedcorConduct thorough assessments to identify HS&E training needs across different stakeholder groups within the organizationProvide strategic guidance and specialized support to operating groups, facilitating the implementation of advanced HS&E processes, conducting high-level training sessions, and driving continuous improvement initiativesFacilitate and deliver HS&E training sessions tailored to the specific needs of different stakeholder groups, including management, office staff, and operational personnelServe as the foremost internal subject matter expert, circulating advanced knowledge on HS&E Management Systems, learning programs, regulatory standards, and performance metrics to operating group management/leadership throughout the organizationProvide guidance and recommendations on all HS&E matters, aligning processes with business imperatives and spearheading initiatives to enhance safety, health, and environmental performanceQualificationsBachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Education, or related fieldCertification in instructional design, training facilitation, or related areas an assetMinimum of 6 years of experience in developing and delivering HS&E training programs in a corporate environmentCertification in CRSP or CSP is an assetAdvanced knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and standardsExperience in developing and delivering training programs in a corporate or industrial settingAbility to assess training needs and measure training effectivenessProven experience in script writing, instructional design, or curriculum development, in the HS&E fieldExceptional communication and presentation skills, with ability to effectively convey complex concepts to diverse audiencesAnalytical skills to assess training effectiveness and identify areas for improvementDetail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality and impactful training materialsWork ConditionsThis role requires at least 25-50% of travel to various locations to facilitate training deliveryAdditional InformationThe Ledcor Group of Companies is one of North America’s most diversified construction companies.
