Software Engineer II - Marketplace Exchange Electronic Arts (EA) creates next‑level entertainment experiences that inspire players and fans around the world. Here, everyone is part of the story. The Infrastructure and Platform Services team is the backbone of EA’s global gaming ecosystem and powers live game services and player experiences through scalable cloud solutions, AI‑driven gameplay services, and digital‑platform gaming services. Description & Requirements The Marketplace Exchange team grows EA’s cross‑game, cross‑platform digital economy and trading platform. As a Software Engineer II you will build large‑scale, always‑on backend services that handle traffic from millions of players and enhance player engagement. You will report to the Sr. Engineering Manager. Responsibilities Collaborate on the design, development, and deployment of distributed backend services. Work with product managers to develop new features that improve player experience through innovation and automation. Perform full‑cycle development from requirements to design to tested feature delivery. Resolve defects during testing, pre‑production, and live production environments. Collaborate with game studios to deliver player‑facing features using the services you create. Qualifications 3+ years of experience developing modern backend services. 1+ year of experience working on online services at Internet scale. Proficiency in Go or a similar language. Experience building SaaS applications with cloud technologies. Knowledge of SOLID design principles and common design patterns. Understanding of DevOps, quality assurance, and the software development lifecycle. Experience with relational databases. Bonus Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, AWS, MySQL/PostgreSQL, NATS, SQS, Redis. Version control skills such as Git. Load testing, system analysis, and live‑service monitoring experience. Domain experience in economics, commerce, online trading, or fraud prevention. Compensation and Benefits The following salary ranges reflect EA’s expectations for this role. Benefits include vacation, sick time, insurance, retirement plans, and potentially bonus and equity.
