Overview CSL Australia is currently looking for a permanent full‑time Chief Officer to join our vessel, on a roster schedule of 6 weeks on and 6 weeks off. The Chief Officer reports to the Master and is the head of the Deck Department. What do you gain by working with us? A stable, permanent position with a leading Australian coastal shipping company FIFO 6/6 schedule promoting work‑life balance Opportunities to lead in a modern, specialised transhipment environment Work for a company that values safety, wellbeing, diversity, and professional growth Become part of a global organisation with access to knowledge‑sharing across a diversified fleet Supportive team culture and leadership committed to ongoing improvement The Chief Officer Will Be Responsible For Designated safety officer The safe and efficient planning of cargo and ballast handling operations Providing guidance and support to the Deck Officers including Deck Cadets Having comprehensive knowledge of all maintenance and repair needs of the deck and throughout the accommodation Assuming the Master’s responsibilities and command of the vessel in the absence of the Master The Skills You Will Bring To Our Team AMSA Chief Officer COC/COR Unlimited (required) Education Requirement: As per AMSA Marine Order 71 (mandatory) Technical Requirement: minimum 5 years sea time as a Watchkeeper Deck (mandatory) STCW regulation II/2 MSIC Card (required) Australian Citizen or hold a valid Australian working visa without working restrictions Living in an Australian state (required) Why CSL?
