About the Hotel TOOR is a luxury boutique hotel located in the heart of Downtown Toronto. Our guests enjoy upscale rooms and suites that offer unobstructed, breathtaking city and lake views. The hotel features 234 rooms and suites with floor‑to‑ceiling windows, French‑inspired bistro, modern yoga and fitness studio, and excellent meeting and reception spaces. Responsibilities Refined verbal communication skills Capable of standing for long periods of time Ability to tolerate moderate amounts of walking and lift, push, pull up to 30 lbs of weight Unafraid of engaging in conversation with guests Must work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays Knowledgeable with HVAC, plumbing, hot water systems, electrical and automated building systems controls Love the look and quality presentation of all hotel facilities, be detail‑oriented, preferably with facility maintenance experience Be friendly, customer‑centric, love to smile and have fun in a team environment Administer the preventative maintenance program, properly completing work orders on time Ensure all fire and safety inspections are completed and any discrepancies are corrected Complete training regarding safety, security, department procedures and service guidelines Respond quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner Report appropriate complaints or requests to the appropriate department Follow up to ensure guest satisfaction Maintain security of equipment, keys and supplies issued each day Report lost and found articles and needed repairs of unsafe conditions to supervisor Provide a professional image at all times through appearance and dress Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi‑task Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team Ability to work under pressure and possess great attention to detail About You As a Maintenance Engineer you will play a key role in the repairs and maintenance of the hotel, accomplishing the preventative maintenance program as directed and supporting repair and renovation projects. You will be responsible primarily for general maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, meeting spaces, public spaces and residential units, and will also perform repairs as part of preventative maintenance programs or when necessary on mechanical, electrical, kitchen and laundry equipment. The role requires strong communication skills and a commitment to customer service. Candidates must currently reside in Canada and have legal working rights. This position is at a location where Hyatt is not the employer.
