The Planner/Scheduler will coordinate, plan, schedule and supervise maintenance tasks and work orders. This role ensures all parts are available to perform jobs, maintains an ongoing library of drawings, sketches, pictures, and catalogues of parts, reviews jobs to determine labor, parts and priority, and maintains safety as a priority at all times.Location and compensation: Calgary, Alberta, Canada. CA$35.00–CA$45.00 per hour. 1 month ago listed. Responsibilities Review work requests for accuracy and clarity and approve them as needed. Escalate issues to the Reliability Engineer for work that does not appear to be valid or well justified. Coordinate with Production Supervisors and Superintendent to ensure assets are prepared for maintenance work as scheduled; work with Engineering to ensure documentation (drawings, BOMs, instructions) is readily available for trades people prior to commencing work; coordinate with storeroom/warehouse to ensure parts are identified, secured and properly kitted in advance. Ensure tasks have all necessary instructions, tools and safety precautions; provide feedback to the Maintenance Superintendent before completing work orders signed off by mechanics. Lead planning and scheduling meetings for line shutdowns and opportunistic maintenance; provide job estimates and follow up to ensure they are met by the trades. Manage work order backlog based on equipment criticality. Keep accurate metrics on planning and scheduling performance and provide reports to the Reliability Engineer. Provide support to the Corporate Reliability Team and collaborate with other IKO plants as required. Participate in new projects (e.g., predictive maintenance, new CMMS like Maximo) and provide training and support to maintenance personnel on CMMS as required. Follow up with tradespeople and contractors to ensure preventative maintenance, projects and day-to-day work orders are completed. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of planning/scheduling experience with Maximo preferred. Mechanical/Electrical background required. Post-secondary degree/diploma. Adequate craft knowledge and skill to estimate labor hours, material requirements and skills; ability to visualize and communicate execution of work. Excellent communication (written, verbal, and presentational) skills; demonstrated leadership; strong mathematical skills; good working knowledge of MS Office. Good organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to read standard blueprints, machine and process drawings; provide clear, actionable instructions. Knowledge of maintenance processes and proper use of work order system, planning and scheduling and storeroom processes. Ability to manage multiple priorities or projects and drive them to completion. Excellent organization and analytical (problem solving & troubleshooting) skills.
