This entry-level position is ideal for individuals passionate about community engagement, retail operations, and Habitat’s mission to build affordable homes for families in need.MindsetMission-Driven: Committed to advancing Habitat for Humanity Saskatchewan's mission to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable homeownership.Strategic Thinking: Envisions long-term goals, anticipates challenges, and develops innovative solutions to achieve organizational success.Collaboration: Builds strong relationships with internal teams, community partners, donors, and government agencies to drive mission alignment and outcomes.Accountability: Takes ownership of organizational performance, ensuring compliance, transparency, and the achievement of strategic goals.Adaptability: Thrives in a dynamic environment, navigating evolving challenges with resilience and flexibility.Cultural Competency: Promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion across all levels of the organization.Confidentiality: Handles sensitive information with discretion, safeguarding organizational and stakeholder integrity.Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service ExcellenceEngagement: Greet and assist customers in a friendly, professional manner, addressing inquiries and concerns to ensure a positive shopping experience.Environment: Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming store atmosphere, ensuring customer safety and satisfaction.Inventory Management & MerchandisingStock Handling: Assist with receiving, sorting, and stocking donations, ensuring items are priced and displayed appropriately.Visual Merchandising: Support the organization and presentation of merchandise to create appealing and accessible displays for customers.Operational SupportDaily Tasks: Operate the cash register, handle transactions, and assist with opening and closing procedures as needed.Safety Compliance: Follow safety guidelines and assist in maintaining a secure environment for staff, volunteers, and customers.Collaboration: Work closely with the ReStore Team Lead to support store operations and resolve issues as they arise.Volunteer & Team EngagementVolunteer Support: Assist in directing volunteers during shifts, ensuring they understand tasks and adhere to ReStore policies.Teamwork: Contribute to a collaborative and supportive work environment, fostering positive relationships with staff and volunteers.SkillsCustomer Service: Strong interpersonal skills to provide excellent service and resolve customer concerns effectively.Merchandising: Ability to organize and present merchandise in a visually appealing and accessible manner.Inventory Management: Basic skills in sorting, tracking, and categorizing inventory for efficient store operations.Team Collaboration: Proven ability to work well within a team, supporting staff and volunteers to achieve shared goals.Safety Awareness: Understanding of workplace safety practices, ensuring a secure environment for all.Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with customers, donors, and team members.Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying and resolving issues to maintain smooth store operations.Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using point-of-sale systems and basic computer applications.Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting donations up to 30 pounds individually and standing for extended periods.Education & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent desired.Previous experience in retail, customer service, or volunteer roles preferred but not required.Experience in operating cash registers and retail transaction platforms.Familiarity with inventory tracking and categorization systems.Knowledge of safety tools and procedures, including lifting equipment and compliance signage.Use of email and basic reporting software for operational coordination.Work ConditionsFull-time position with regular shifts, including weekends and some evenings.Physical demands include standing for extended periods, lifting and carrying donations, and moving merchandise.May require occasional travel for donation pickups or special events. #J-18808-Ljbffr
