To cleaner air. To calmer streets. To cities built for people. Who We Are Bird is a global leader in micromobility, dedicated to shaping the future of urban movement. Our cleaner, affordable, and on‑demand mobility solutions are available in over 200 cities worldwide. We take a collaborative, community‑first approach to micromobility. Bird partners closely with the cities in which it operates, leveraging our experience and safety‑first technology to help them meet their shared mobility and climate goals and provide a reliable, affordable, and responsible transportation option for people who live and work there. And our teams are constantly pushing boundaries and challenging the status quo in pursuit of a brighter future. Job Summary The Operations Partner is a critical logistical role essential to Bird’s success in Ottawa. You will take responsibility for the logistics of the local fleet of e‑scooters and e‑bikes, ensuring they are charged, safe, and positioned correctly to meet the community’s transportation needs. We are looking for entrepreneurial individuals or logistics businesses ready to hit the ground running. Whether you are a solo operator with a single van or a fleet owner capable of deploying multiple drivers, you can scale this partnership to fit your capacity. You will have the flexibility to choose how you operate: Maximize earnings by securing your own space (warehouse/facility) to charge vehicles overnight. Streamline operations by simply retrieving and transporting vehicles to our central warehouse. This is a pay‑per‑task opportunity where earnings are directly tied to output. With an hourly range between $20-$30 per hour. Important Details About the Role This is an independent contractor position, not an employee role. You are responsible for your own tools, equipment, and any associated expenses required to complete your work. As an independent contractor, you manage your own schedule and workload to meet the operational needs of Bird. Key Responsibilities Fleet Transportation: Utilize your vehicle(s) or fleet to collect, deploy, relocate, and retrieve e‑scooters and e‑bikes across Ottawa daily. Task‑Based Operations (Choose your model): Retrieve & Charge (Highest Margin): Collect vehicles, charge them at your own secured facility, and deploy them the next morning. Retrieve & Drop‑off: Collect vehicles and transport them to the local Bird warehouse for charging. Operational Management: Manage the end‑to‑end operation of your assigned portfolio, ensuring vehicles are available in high‑demand areas. Maintenance & Quality: Perform light field checks to ensure vehicles are safe and environmentally friendly. Field Execution: Problem‑solve in real‑time to overcome obstacles, prioritize tasks, and navigate local geography efficiently. Must‑Have Qualifications Vehicle Access (Required): Must own or have consistent access to at least one large vehicle (van/truck) suitable for transporting multiple scooters/bikes. Fleet owners with multiple vehicles/drivers are encouraged to apply. Storage Space (Asset): Access to a garage, warehouse, or commercial facility with electricity is highly preferred for maximizing earnings (allows for overnight charging). License: Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (or applicable commercial license) with a clean driving record for all operating drivers. Physical Ability: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly; must be able to stoop, bend, walk, and stand for long periods while handling heavy equipment. Availability: Flexible schedule with a willingness to regularly operate on weekends. Tech‑Savvy: Comfortable learning new mobile tools to locate and manage the fleet. Job Types Full‑time, Seasonal License/Certification Driving License (required) Ability to Commute Ottawa Ontario (required) Ability to Relocate Ottawa Ontario - Relocate before starting work (required) Work Location: In person Why Bird Matters Every time you hop on a Bird, you’re helping build a more livable city. We focus on four core pillars that reflect the impact of every ride: Freedom: We're the bridge that connects you to every experience—simple, convenient, and stress‑free. We give you the freedom to move without limits. Exploration: We turn everyday trips into memorable experiences, sparking discovery and wonder as you connect with the world around you. Community: Taking a Bird is an act of citizenship. We create a sense of belonging and unity, knowing that the richer our communities become, the richer our lives become. Sustainability: Our electric vehicles reduce gas‑powered car usage and lower carbon emissions. We enable responsible choices, creating tangible impact and driving progress toward a cleaner future. Culture at Bird We're an ambitious, smart, and open‑minded team that is passionate about our mission. Each day is unlike the last, as we’re constantly moving forward, challenging each other, and working together to create the future of micro‑mobility. Bird stands for a culture of inclusion.
