Quality Engineer III – TD AI Platform Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada Hours: 37.5 Line Of Business: Technology Solutions Pay: $91,200 - $136,800 CAD Job Description TD Testing and Quality Engineer (QE) covers a specialized area dedicated to high‑quality application and solution delivery. The role involves planning, designing, developing, and executing test automation and execution to achieve business outcomes for medium to high complexity scopes. Responsibilities also include leadership, risk identification, testing impact assessment, and continuous improvement in testing practices across delivery teams. Responsibilities Accountable for Test Strategy deliverables, planning, test design, test automation, and test execution. Integrate directly into a team’s continuous delivery process, ensuring speed, agility, and risk management. Provide leadership, direction, and feedback throughout development and design processes. Support test development and automation to meet intended solution quality. Determine testing impacts for multiple delivery teams and scale accordingly. Manage risk identification, mitigation, and validation of business outcomes. Drive quality improvements and metrics, becoming a leader in innovation. Use domain knowledge to build optimized Test Approach and tooling strategy. Engineer and leverage virtual assets to support virtualization of incomplete or unavailable code, service, database, etc. Apply test data management practices to reuse automated test data provisioning capabilities. Lead deployment and implementation of tools, processes, resources, and automation for functional and non‑functional testing (performance, readiness, reliability, accessibility, security). Identify opportunities for test asset reusability and efficiencies in test approach. Proactively seek continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and document end‑to‑end test solutions. Lead team and collaborate cross‑functionally with development, business analysts, etc. to ensure proper assessment of user stories including acceptance criteria and Definition of Done. Coach and mentor on principles of behavior‑driven development (BDD) and test‑driven development (TDD) with value‑driven focus. Provide advanced test development support and account for test architecture activities as an SDET. Act as a quality expert across product groups, troubleshooting automation frameworks and ensuring built‑in quality code. Adhere to enterprise frameworks or methodologies related to quality engineering activities. Ensure programs, policies, practices are managed effectively, meet business needs, and comply with internal and external requirements. Engage stakeholders at all levels to shift from defect finding to defect prevention. Conduct analysis using data, make recommendations, and assess effectiveness of programs. Identify opportunities to minimize cost and support strategic solutions to enhance stakeholder experience. Conduct test asset reviews to maintain quality, standards compliance, reusability, and maintenance. Monitor service productivity and assess efficiency, implementing continuous process improvements. Lead remediation plans to address performance, risk, and governance issues. Manage relationships across business lines and control functions, aligning with enterprise and regulatory requirements. Protect organization by managing and escalating high‑risk activities. Stay current on emerging issues, trends, and regulatory requirements. Maintain a risk‑management culture supported by effective processes. Participate fully as a team member, supporting a positive work environment and timely communication of issues. Provide thought leadership in quality engineering best practices and knowledge transfer. Keep current on emerging trends and grow knowledge of related tools. Participate in performance management and development activities, including cross‑training. Inform others about status and progress of projects. Mentor and enable teammates by sharing engineering best practices. Act as a brand ambassador for your business area and the bank. Lead, motivate, and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Contribute to a fair, positive, and equitable environment that supports a diverse workforce. Consult stakeholders or cross‑functional teams on quality software delivery. Translate architecture blueprints and diagrams into efficient test approaches. Apply advanced debugging and problem‑solving skills to investigate complex problems. Lead test automation activities within and across pods. Develop, debug, execute, and maintain complex automated test cases. Be responsible for all project and release testing (integration, acceptance, performance, operability, deployment verification). Apply risk analysis methodologies that align with project development approaches. Prioritize testing tasks, ensuring milestones and activities are completed as scheduled. Plan, execute, report, and drive continuous improvement in sprint and SIT phases. Implement best practices and ensure accurate status tracking/reporting to QE manager. Work autonomously on complex application issues, escalating to leadership when necessary. Drive delivery of quality solutions across pods, midsize to high complexity product lines. Apply new and advanced techniques (BDD, Machine Learning) and lead their implementation. Focus on future trends and foresee issues and gaps, identifying industry trends. Lead and collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams. Report to a Practice Lead. Advanced experience in software configuration, code, and release management. Experience and Education BS degree in Computer Science or related engineering discipline; or equivalent practical experience. 5‑7 years of relevant experience. Strong Python/Java programming knowledge and experience in writing code for complex scenarios. Experience creating automation in sprint environments. Excellent communication and analytical skills. Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs). Solid understanding of SQL for data validation and integration. Experience with behavior‑driven development (BDD). Knowledge and working experience with Azure Cloud architecture and services. Knowledge and experience with automation frameworks. Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins. Strong test leadership and management skills, including program‑level strategies and metrics. Active participation in daily meetings with developers and stakeholders. Strong Agile background: sprint ceremonies, Scrum, planning and retrospections. Good to have: experience with Ansible, Linux/UNIX, previous banking experience or TD experience.
