Principal Mechanical Layout Designer – Vancouver or Calgary Ausenco | Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada About the Role Prepare mechanical layouts: study level and execution level drawings in line with project requirements Develop mechanical layouts in a 3D environment Produce layout-relevant deliverables such as site layouts, general arrangements and detailed drawings Deliver design drawings according to project-specific design criteria and industry regulations, codes, and standards Maintain consistent design drafting standards across projects by communicating expectations and holding project members accountable Support proposal managers with input into proposals and estimates Facilitate and ensure interdisciplinary co‑ordination when developing layouts or models Comply with all Ausenco corporate policies, Quality Assurance, and Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment policies, procedures and requirements Qualifications Advanced diploma or equivalent in mechanical engineering technology 12+ years of experience in mechanical design drafting Experience in mechanical design and layout of mineral processing plants within a large multidisciplinary EPC/EPCM environment Proficiency in 3D modeling and 2D drafting Ability to prepare and design plant models Well‑developed written and oral communication skills Benefits Career advancement through technical training, mentorship initiatives, and networking opportunities Work‑life balance with hybrid work model and progressive parental leave benefits Holistic wellness approach with confidential counseling, information services, and a comprehensive benefits program Accessible leadership team and inclusive culture Salary Salary range: $110,000 to $160,000 annually. Variation in salary is determined by qualifications, relevant years of experience, and prevailing market conditions.
