The School of Applied Health seeks a part-time professor to teach lectures and/or labs in semester one and/or two within the Diagnostic Imaging Technology program.Sheridan professors are responsible for developing an effective learning environment for students while respecting their diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, experiences, and individual learning styles. What You’ll Be DoingDelivering course curriculum in the classroom and/or online according to evidence and theory-based teaching and learning principles and in accordance with Sheridan Policies and Procedures;Engaging students in meaningful and student-centered academic experiences, while evaluating student progress/achievement and assuming responsibility for the overall assessment of the students’ work within assigned courses;Tutoring and academic counselling of students, while evaluating student progress/achievement and assuming responsibility for the overall assessment of the students’ work within assigned courses;Attending periodic faculty meetings;Performing other related duties as assigned. The Successful Candidate Will Also Meet The Following QualificationsLicensed Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologist (MRIT), Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT), or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (DMS) in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) or equivalent regulatory body in another jurisdiction;Or a Professor holding a degree in Medical Imaging, Health Sciences, or a related field.Bachelor’s degree in Medical Imaging Sciences, Pathology, Health Sciences, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and extensive professional experience to be considered.Completion of Advanced Diploma in Medical Radiation Technology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, or other imaging specialty from an accredited institution.Minimum of 3–5 years recent, relevant clinical practice in the field of specialization.Previous teaching experience at the post-secondary or clinical level (lecture, lab, or clinical supervision) considered an asset.Experience with curriculum development, assessment, and integration of competency-based education is an asset.Demonstrated commitment to professional development and maintaining current knowledge of the field.Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.Proficiency with educational technologies and simulation-based learning.Experience in teaching and curriculum development at the post-secondary level or equivalent experience as a trainer in industry.Formal studies in adult or higher education are an asset.Proficiency in computer software packages such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.Ability to convey the conceptual and applied aspects of knowledge to a broad range of students.Committed to excellence in teaching and learning and to working within a team environment.
