Senior Integrated/Mechanical Engineer I (Facilities Engineer)Process Development Full Time Vancouver, BC $89,000 - $120,000 CAD per yearJoin our dynamic team as a Senior Mechanical or Integrated Engineer I, supporting our growing Pilot Production Facilities. In this hands-on role, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams—design, quality, development, and manufacturing—to translate engineering needs into real-world solutions that enhance product quality, reliability, and production efficiency. You'll also coordinate contractors onsite and contribute to the continuous improvement of our processes and equipment.We're looking for someone who brings complex engineering expertise coupled with the ability and desire to work hands-on to solve problems. As a senior member of the team, you’ll model ownership, a collaborative mindset, and a proactive approach to work. A commitment to safety, cleanliness, and operational excellence is essential.What You’ll DoSystems, Equipment, & MaintenanceInstall, commission, and maintain building systems and plant equipment, including R&D Chemistry Equipment, compressed air systems, inert gas systems, HVAC, water systems, dehumidification systems, vacuum gloveboxes, and custom electrochromic window manufacturing toolsResponsible for continuous improvement of facility arrangementPreventative and reactive maintenance of equipment though implementing solutions hands on using technical documentation & toolsManage procurement of parts, supplies, and tools as needed to maintain operational readinessSupport the design, fabrication, and integration of custom R&D and manufacturing equipmentWrite, execute and own project plans, including defining scope, timeline, and budgetLead technical projects from concept through completionParticipate in the planning and execution of the new Demonstration Plant facilityCollaborate closely with internal groups to support process and product developmentEnsure cross-functional stakeholders are kept up to dateTechnical mentorship of more junior team membersLiaise with contractors, consultants, vendors, and equipment manufacturers to ensure project alignment and technical successSafety & ComplianceAdhere to all plant safety policies, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and general lab protocolsPromote and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentQualificationsDegree in Mechanical, Integrated, Manufacturing, Maintenance Engineering, or a related field5-10 years of relevant hands-on engineering experienceProficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks and AutoCAD preferred) for equipment/component designFamiliarity with electrochromic materials and devices is an asset, but not requiredPrevious project management and contractor management experience an assetTechnical SkillsStrong hands-on experience with mechanical systems and equipmentExperience disassembling, troubleshooting, and repairing technical systems independentlyStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and implement actionable improvementsExcellent time management and multitasking skills to manage multiple projects efficientlyComfortable working in a fast-paced, agile environment with shifting prioritiesExperience working with hand and power tools; ability to lift and carry 50 lbsSelf-starter with strong accountability, attention to detail, and ability to work independently under tight deadlinesHands-on, solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving and designCreative thinker with an agile mindset and willingness to take initiativeTechnical mentorship capabilities, you are interested in sharing technical know-how and supporting the continued development of team members.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to cross-functional teamsEffective at driving collaboration with diverse internal and external stakeholdersHigh regard for workplace safety and commitment to company policies, including Quality Assurance and OHSE standardsPersonal interest in technical hobbies (e.g., mechanics, machining, woodworking, crafting etc) is a strong assetPlease NoteThis position requires full-time, in-office presence at our Olympic Village locations.Flexibility to occasionally work early mornings, evenings, or weekends as neededWhy Miru?Our mission is to enhance the well-being of people and our planet.
