TWD is currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support our headquarters in Fort McMurray, AB as an Independent Contractor. Our Client is seeking an experienced and driven Electrical Engineer. The incumbent will utilize their sound technical skills to provide technical support to operations, maintenance, and shutdown organizations, and prepare high-quality design packages, as required.
Key Accountabilities- Review shift log daily regarding recent electrical-related issues in the plant
- Provide technical support to operations & maintenance during troubleshooting activities to recover plant production, as required
- Lead or provide technical support during incident investigations
- Review equipment test results and advise on the frequency & scope of maintenance activities or if repairs/replacements/equipment upgrades are needed
- Participate in risk analysis work activities, develop engineering solutions for various plant issues
Experience and Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a Canadian University or equivalent as recognized by APEGA Professional Engineer or eligible for membership in the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGA). Experience in troubleshooting electrical equipment 600V/4160V, providing repair/improvement solutions, and completing engineering work packages.
Skills and Abilities: Ability to work in a team environment, good communication, collaboration, networking, and interpersonal skills. Strong team player and self-starter. Ability to work in an office and field environment. Knowledge of industry codes, standards, and practices. Ability to utilize sound technical practices/analysis to support recommendations and solve complex technical problems with limited supervision.
Requirements: Valid class 5 driver's license. Must be eligible to work permanently in Canada.
