Toronto, Canada gorrie. Full time

Project Manager – Retail & Tradeshow Production Gorrie Marketing is a retail marketing agency specializing in high-impact shopper experiences, multi-material fabrications, and innovative retail displays. We partner with global brands—including Fortune 500 companies—to create retail environments, tradeshow exhibits, and large-scale experiential activations that convert shoppers and elevate brand presence. We are expanding our team and seeking a highly capable Project Manager with experience in tradeshows, events, and retail production to help bring creative concepts to life from idea to installation. The Opportunity As a Project Manager, you will lead complex, multi-material projects through all phases—planning, costing, production, logistics, installation, and post-project review. You are the central hub connecting creative, engineering, suppliers, and clients, ensuring everything is delivered on time, on budget, and with exceptional quality. Your background in tradeshows/events, combined with strong technical understanding of construction drawings, fabrication methods, and third-party vendor management, will allow you to execute with confidence in fast-paced environments. Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Coordination Lead end-to-end project execution for retail displays, tradeshows, exhibits, and experiential activations. Develop scopes of work, budgets, timelines, and critical paths covering drawings, prototypes, approvals, production, and installation. Use Business Central (ERP) to track milestones, manage purchase orders, document changes, and maintain accurate project records. Oversee project risks, anticipate problems, and implement timely solutions. Technical Expertise & Drawing Interpretation Review and interpret construction drawings, shop drawings, renderings, and technical documentation. Collaborate with engineering and design teams to ensure drawings are production-ready and materials/methods are feasible. Identify discrepancies, missing details, or risks in drawings or contracts and flag them early to account and management teams. Manage domestic and offshore suppliers across wood, metal, print, electrical, plastics, scenic fabrication, and other specialties. Source new vendors to expand capabilities, improve cost competitiveness, and strengthen quality. Oversee third-party vendors for tradeshow builds, rentals, installation crews, logistics, and site services. Conduct site visits, factory visits, and production checks to ensure adherence to specifications and timelines. Budgeting & Cost Control Build quotations, develop project pricing, and manage budgets with strong financial discipline. Issue and track POs, ensuring accuracy in costing and billing. Execute value-engineering strategies to maintain quality while meeting margin targets. Onsite Support & Client Interaction Attend client meetings, site walkthroughs, tradeshow setups, and event installations as required. Act as a point of contact for clients, ensuring expectations are aligned from kick-off through installation. Gather client feedback and identify opportunities for improvement or innovation. Represent the company professionally with a solutions-oriented, service-first mindset. What You Bring Experience 5–7 years of project management experience in retail environments, tradeshows, events, experiential marketing, or multi-material production. Hands‑on experience managing fabrication projects from concept through installation. Proven ability to manage multiple third‑party vendors in high‑pressure timelines (e.g., show openings, store resets). Experience reviewing and working from construction drawings, engineering drawings, and technical plans. Technical Skills Strong understanding of multi‑material fabrication (wood, metal, acrylic, graphics, lighting, digital components). Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, architectural plans, and build specifications. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems (Business Central is an asset). Knowledge of production workflows, CNC manufacturing, printing processes, and installation logistics. Professional & Soft Skills Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Strong communication skills—clear, concise, and proactive with clients and internal teams. Collaborative mindset with the ability to guide cross‑functional teams. Problem‑solving mindset; able to troubleshoot onsite and make quick, informed decisions. High attention to detail, process‑driven, and quality‑focused. Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities. Nice‑to‑Have Qualifications Experience with global manufacturing or offshore sourcing. Background in experiential activations, scenic builds, or environmental design. Exposure to CAD or 3D design programs (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Rhino, SketchUp). Knowledge of sustainable materials and production practices. Why Join Us Work with world‑class brands and create memorable retail and event experiences. Hybrid work arrangement with a supportive and collaborative team culture. Opportunities for growth, innovation, and professional development. Dynamic, hands‑on environment where no two projects are the same.
