This role plays a critical part in ensuring the integrity of financial information in the general ledger and participates in integration of acquired companies into the accounting function. The Senior Accountant supports the accounting team management with implementation of standardized processes, key performance indicators (KPIs), and controls and procedure documentation with a shared services mindset.### ### # **The Senior Accountant will:*** Performs full-cycle accounting and month-end close activities for select operational units of the Company, enabling timely and accurate financial reporting.* Collaborates with other members of the accounting team in reviewing and posting transactional batches, preparing journal entries, balancing inter-company accounts, and completing account reconciliations and other month-end close deliverables.* Collaborates with various departments to gather and record financial data, ensuring completeness and accuracy.* Maintains effective internal control processes to safeguard company assets and ensure financial data integrity.Ensures compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.* Supports the external audit by providing necessary documentation and analysis.* Participates in integration of acquired companies into accounting function.* Identifies opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements to streamline accounting operations.* Supports project delivery and automation initiatives, as required.* Contributes to a collaborative and high-performing team environment.* Other duties as assigned.# **To be successful as a Senior Accountant with People Corporation, you will need:*** CPA designation or equivalent certification in good standing, or in the process of obtaining a CPA designation.* Work experience with a major accounting firm is preferred.* Minimum of 3 years of progressive and relevant accounting experience, with specific experience in month-end close processes.* Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.* Solid knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems; proficiency in using Workday considered an asset.* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and manipulate financial data.* Attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis and reporting.* Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and support change activities aligned to the Company’s priorities.* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.* Strong planning and organization skills, including managing and coordinating month-end tasks.* Acquisition and integration experience would be considered an asset.# **What's in it for you:*** Learn by working alongside our experts* Extended health care and dental benefits* A retirement savings plan with company contributions* A suite of Health & Wellness offerings* Mental Health programs and support for you and your family* Assistance for the completion of industry designations* Competitive compensation### ### At People Corporation we are committed to helping businesses succeed.
