Your work will directly support scientists who are pushing the boundaries of what is possible in human health.If you are a strategic financial leader who thrives in a dynamic, global environment and wants to make a measurable impact, we would be excited to meet you.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare, consolidate, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with ASPE.Maintain the general ledger and oversee timely month end and year end close processes.Monitor and manage cash flow, including forecasting and working capital planning.Lead budgeting and financial forecasting in partnership with the President and department leaders.Deliver financial analysis, variance reporting, and strategic recommendations to support operational and corporate decision making.Supervise and mentor accounting staff across AP, AR, payroll, and general accounting.Establish clear objectives, conduct performance reviews, and support ongoing professional development.Ensure efficient workflow, prioritization, and cross training within the finance team.Compliance & ControlsStrengthen internal controls to protect company assets and ensure data integrity.Oversee statutory filings including sales tax, payroll remittances, and regulatory submissions.Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners.Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and applicable legislation.Process Improvement & SystemsEvaluate and enhance accounting processes, systems, and reporting tools.Oversee ERP or accounting software optimization to improve accuracy and efficiency.Develop and document financial policies, procedures, and best practices.Strategic & Operational SupportSupport the President in evaluating business opportunities, risks, and cost saving initiatives.Participate in management meetings, providing financial insights that inform operational performance.Contribute to special projects including financing, acquisitions, capital investments, and contract reviews.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.5–8 years of progressive finance/accounting experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role.Strong knowledge of ASPE and Canadian tax regulations.Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision making abilities.Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and unwavering integrity.Core CompetenciesLeadership and team developmentStrategic and analytical thinkingEffective communication and interpersonal skillsResults driven, proactive problem solvingCommitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and ethical standardsWorking ConditionsOffice based role with occasional travel for meetings or audits.
