Team Lead, Nutrition Program - My Sister's Place Program Support I, Team Lead - (OPSEU)Full-Time, Contract (End Date: August 31, 2026) London, ON (London Zone) Application Deadline: December 8, 2025 The My Sister's Place drop-in program fosters a vibrant community of women who are experiencing, or at risk of homelessness, promoting a welcoming and non-judgmental culture and providing a reprieve from the stigma women so often feel in other community settings. Our team supports women with anything they might need - from a hot meal to tampons, from access to showers and laundry facilities to harm reduction kits and from on-site mental health and addictions groups to connections with broader community supports. As part of the Team Lead, Nutrition Program – My Sisters’ Place, you’ll be responsible for preparing and serving meals and ensuring a warm, clean, welcoming environment for all women accessing My Sisters’ Place. This will also include general responsibilities to support the administrative requirements of the Nutrition Program and to support the Director, Manager(s) and team(s). Interested applicants who reside in the City of London and are in need of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) are encouraged to apply for one as soon as possible as PVSCs in the City of London are currently taking approximately 3 weeks to be processed and offers of employment cannot be made without receipt of a PVSC. WHAT WE'RE OFFERING: What you'll be making-Starting rate for this role is $22.68 per hour(Level 1-Program Support, Team Lead) Successful external applicants will start at Level 1, with grid progression based on seniority up to Level 8 ($28.74 per hour) For internal applicants, grid level placement will occur as per the Collective Agreement When you'll work-70 hours over two-week period; rotating shifts of days, afternoons, evenings & weekends. What your benefits will be - 9% in lieu of benefits Your pension plan– Optional enrollment in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) HOW YOU WILL BE MAKING A DIFFERENCE: Oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy nutrition program, problem solve issues and provide guidance around program concerns and direction. Develop and implement weekly and monthly meal plans (lunch and snacks). Independently complete meal preparation, and service of daily morning nutrition, ongoing coffee service and noon hour meal for up to 150 women. Manage grocery inventory ensuring that inventory is accurate and up to date. Conduct weekly food ordering and grocery shopping. Engage with donors when accepting food donations and ensure donor recognition; coordinate the distribution of food donations. Coordinate the provision of nutritious snacks, coffee, tea when needed for meetings, groups, visitors, etc. As needed, train and support Relief Kitchen Workers, in partnership with the Manager. Ensure kitchen and food storage areas are clean and hygienic, in accordance with safe food handling and health unit regulations. Ensure bathrooms and showers are cleaned thoroughly on a daily basis, and coordinate maintenance of appliances and fixtures. Maintain gardens, coordinate and ensure garbage and recycling removal. Maintain grounds on a daily basis to ensure that the grounds are clean and tidy. Coordinate snow removal. Coordinate the delivery of gardening programs for women. WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO APPLY: Post secondary education in a nutrition related field. (primary proof of credentials will be required during the hiring process i.e. original degree/diploma or official transcript) Safe food handling certification. Valid Driver’s Licence, and access to a vehicle to carry out job duties Current, clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) Demonstrated ability to attend work regularly We prefer the following qualifications: First Aid & CPR Post secondary education in social services, mental health, addictions or a related field Valid certification in ASIST and Nonviolent Physical Crisis Intervention preferred Demonstrated ability to effectively work in a fast paced kitchen environment, with a keen ability to multi task. Demonstrated ability to work with women who live with multiple challenges related to marginalization, mental illness, substance use, complex health challenges, street-level sex work, poverty, homelessness, women abuse and trauma.
