District Principal, Learning Support Services

We are seeking applications for future Principal positions in our Elementary schools. Those selected will be welcomed to our administrator leadership pool.

This Opportunity

The District Principal of Learning Support Services is responsible for overseeing and supervising various programs aimed at advancing inclusive education efforts within the district. Their role is to maximize the learning potential of all children. This includes providing leadership to educators and support staff, such as teachers, school psychologists, speech-language pathologists, and vision and hearing resource teachers.

We are seeking a leader with a strong understanding of inclusive education policies and practices, exceptional interpersonal skills, and the ability to design innovative programs and solve complex issues in partnership with stakeholders including students, families, staff, community partners and provincial organizations.

Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree in Educational Administration, Special Education, Counselling or related discipline
  • Successful leadership experience, preferably at both the school and district levels
  • Extensive experience with inclusive education and at-risk learners
  • Applied knowledge of the BC Curriculum and Ministry of Education Inclusive Education Policies
  • Demonstration of district leadership competencies with particular attention to resilience, capacity-building, visionary leadership, decision-making, and learning leadership.
