Senior Architect Consultant

We are Systematix and we are looking for a Senior Architect Consultant for an upcoming opportunity with a public sector client. The ideal candidate must already possess a security clearance at the Reliability level (Level I) or higher. The expected start date for this one-year contract (with possibility for extension) is March 2026. About the Project The client is seeking a Senior Architect consultant with expert knowledge of municipal public transportation operations and transportation applications. This resource will provide subject matter expertise to complete the required tasks and deliverables for the successful completion of the digital transformation initiatives and ongoing support of the applications, including but not limited to the below projects and responsibilities: About the Responsibilities Provide expert advice and recommendations to Transit IT leaders to develop roadmaps and frameworks for the cost‑effective management and sharing for Transit applications and information across organizational lines and systems, while respecting the security, privacy and appropriate use of that information. Help the business understand and gather requirements where required for the integration of transit applications for the above forementioned initiatives. Provide Architecture documentation that includes but not limited by high‑level system architecture diagrams, integration architecture (for CAD, Hastus, YMS, SAP, M5, etc.), data flow diagrams, interface specifications, technical standards and design principles. Participate and provide consultation expertise and feedback for the integration and development of new project Transit applications with existing transit applications including Public API, EQMS, AVLC and Next Bus Arrival, HASTUS and Radio technology. Provide technical input for RFPs, procurement, vendor evaluations, and review and approve of vendor designs. Participate and contribute to the system integration deliverables, develop integration strategy and roadmap, API specifications, mapping documents, and Integration Control Documentation. Provide input and review testing procedures as required for the projects above. Participate in technical validation of vendor API designs, as well as support integration testing and acceptance. Participate in the planning for the implementation of the software changes for the above project list as needed for the integration. Develop non‑functional requirements (performance, security, scalability), provide advice on gap analysis between current vs. target systems, technical feasibility assessments as well as recommendations for technology platforms and tools. Provide advanced troubleshooting, configuration, and database administration support at the application level for the legacy in house developed applications (i.e. Equipment Master System) that cannot be resolved by Tier 1 or 2. Provide cloud/on‑prem hosting requirements and deployment architecture. About the Qualifications 15 years’ experience in Enterprise Architecture & Design. 10 years’ experience in gathering requirements, design, development, testing, deploying a system/application/software, i.e. SDLC methodologies. 5 years’ experience in Windows/Web based NET Development and object oriented design. 1 year experience with software packaging solution Docker, including building container images, managing container lifecycles, and integrating Docker into system architecture and deployment workflows. 5 years’ experience in Database Development (Oracle/SQL Server/Sybase). Including data modeling and database design. 2 years’ experience with Clever Devices solutions specifically CleverCAD deployment and/or support. 2 years’ experience/involvement in the implementation of Giro Hastus suite of products application. 1 year experience in the implementation of AssetWorks (M5) planning, design, or implementation. Bachelor of Computer Information Systems or equivalent. Candidates must outline in detail how they meet the above requirements. Pay Disclosure The average hourly pay range for this field is as follows: Junior:0–5 years of experience – $40-75/hr Intermediate:6–9 years of experience – $60-100/hr Senior:10+ years of experience – $90-150/hr Compensation is commensurate with these standards; exceptions may apply based on experience, skills, and market conditions.
