Claims Adjuster, Commercial Equipment Breakdown HSB - Hartford Steam Boiler (HSB Canada, part of Munich Re) HSB Canada is Canada’s premier engineering‑driven specialty insurer, offering inspection, engineering, and technology services. We are looking for an experienced Claims Adjuster to join our team in either downtown Toronto or downtown Montreal. The role focuses on resolving commercial equipment breakdown claims with technical expertise and a client‑centric approach. Primary Objectives Act as a key liaison for HSB’s claims capabilities while providing prompt, high‑quality service to insured clients. Leverage technical knowledge to manage full‑cycle claims from first notice of loss through final settlement. Job Responsibilities Manage full‑cycle claims, from First Notice of Loss to final settlement and payment. Advise insureds on claims issues and deliver prompt, quality service. Appoint and lead experts to support claim investigations. Negotiate settlements and address claims challenges. Interact with insureds and client companies to guide effective claim resolution. Qualifications Minimum of post‑secondary education (University degree and/or CIP designation preferred). 3–5 years of experience in commercial property or equipment breakdown claims. Technical credentials or strong understanding of equipment breakdown (asset). Exceptional negotiation, customer service, and relationship‑building skills. Strong analytical thinking and sound judgment. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and claims management databases. Valid Adjuster License for multiple provinces (preferred) and/or Quebec Claims Adjuster license (asset).
