What You’ll Be Doing As a member of CIBC’s Security Engineering team, you’ll play a crucial role in all matters of Information Security. You’ll focus on assessing projects for security risks by examining and interpreting requirement documents and architecture diagrams. We are looking for an action‑oriented, collaborative and innovative individual that would be responsible for designing, building, and deploying Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention solutions. The Senior Consultant Information Security Engineer will also be responsible for completing proof‑of‑concept and proof‑of‑technology exercises on new security offerings as well as designing and implementing successful solutions. This role requires you to be on call for a week once every four months. At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on‑site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview. How You’ll Succeed Azure Infrastructure Design & Deployment: Architect, implement, and manage Azure infrastructure solutions using native services such as Virtual Networks, Azure Storage, Azure Compute, Azure Active Directory, and Azure Resource Manager. Deploy and configure core Azure resources including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure App Services, Azure SQL Database, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Load Balancer, Azure Firewall, and Azure Key Vault. Automation & Infrastructure as Code: Utilize Azure‑native tools such as ARM templates, Bicep, and Azure CLI to automate deployments, manage configurations, and ensure repeatable infrastructure provisioning. Implement Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics, and Application Insights to track performance, availability, and security. Proactively identify opportunities to optimize cost, performance, and reliability. Security & Compliance: Apply best practices for securing Azure environments, including network security groups, role‑based access control (RBAC), and policy enforcement. Design and build integrated Information Security solutions that meet the needs of a large enterprise. Constantly evaluate our security posture and stay up to date with relevant industry perspectives. Maintain and support perimeter security tools including Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Microsoft Cloud Access Security Brokers (CASB) and Microsoft Defender for Cloud (CSPM). Identify current and emerging perimeter security. Source and implement new perimeter security solutions to better protect the organization. Who You Are You can demonstrate 5+ years experience in designing, deploying, and managing Azure cloud infrastructure. An asset if you have hands‑on knowledge of Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Sentinel, Defender for Cloud Apps, Cloud Security Posture Management or Defender for Endpoint. You are proficient with core native Azure services (VNet, VM, Storage, AAD, ARM, App Services, AKS, Key Vault, Load Balancer, Firewall, etc.). Hold solid experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code using ARM templates, Bicep, Azure CLI, or PowerShell. Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools in Azure will be an asset. Understanding of cloud security best practices and Azure governance along with knowledge of Microsoft Security Technologies and hands‑on experience deploying, configuring and maintaining the tools is beneficial for this role. You’re a certified professional. You have current accreditation and good standing in Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions or Architect Expert equivalent certification is sought after. CISSP, CCSP, CISM certifications are an asset. You have a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. You give meaning to data.
