In addition, the Manager, Finance will oversee Superior’s Cash Management & other processes.CORE COMPETENCIESWell written/spokenDetail OrientedInitiativeTime ManagementManagement of PeopleTeamworkROLE SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIESAssist with the preparation and review of financial statements, standard reports and ad hoc reports/analysis on request.Conduct a thorough analysis to validate the accuracy of statements and reports prior to distribution.Assist with the preparation and review of quarterly and annual external notes packages.Provide month end support including review of monthly/quarterly account reconciliations and analysis of variances, and review of adjusting journal entries, ensuring compliance with internal financial/accounting policies and sound procedures.Review and approval of standard month-end journal entries and support, and mentor other finance staff.Promote and enforce the integrity of the policies and practices implemented by ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and accepted practices of internal control as governed by Canadian Sarbanes Oxley (CSOX).Liaison with external auditors on quarterly financial statements inquiries and provide supporting documentation and commentary.In depth oversight and management of the Treasury function including but not limited to approvals of cash transfers, wires and corporate credit cards management.Oversee the annual Insurance renewal process for Superior Propane including liaison with operation to update required documents.Review and Approve Vendor Setup requests in accordance with company guidelines.Provide support and backup for the monthly Hyperion upload and Workday to Hyperion GL correctionsManage and supervise a team of three analysts/senior analystsAd hoc duties, including integration of acquired businesses, preparation of executive summaries and commentary for presentations, accounting research and other projects as required.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.Professional Accounting designation - CPA or close to completion.Seven (7) to ten (10) years of related experience.Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness of large data records.Excellent analytical, reporting and problem solving abilities.Exceptional Microsoft Excel skills.Strong communication (written and spoken), interpersonal, and organizational skills.Strong time management and organizational skills.Proven team player, but able to work with minimal direction.Motivated self-starter, who can multitask and manage competing priorities under tight and changing deadlines.High degree of initiative, judgement, and decision-making capabilities.Exposure to Workday, ADDS and FSM Reporting is an advantage.Salary: $95,000 - $119,000 annually (based on skills, experience, qualifications, and geography).Eligible employees may earn performance-based incentives and have access to comprehensive benefits and retirement plans with matching contributions.This posting is a replacement for an existing vacancy.
