The successful candidate will share the on-call rotation, existing OR allocation at Aberdeen Hospital, fracture clinic and Hip & Knee clinic.The practice is general orthopedics and trauma call. An interest in primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty, foot and ankle and/or sports medicine interest will be considered an asset.Responsibilitieswork as a full scope of practice orthopedic surgeon providing care to the patients within NorthernZoneparticipate in call shiftssupport Nova Scotia Health in advancing the delivery of orthopedic surgery care by liaising with the applicable staff within the zone and provincebe accountable to the patient population in NorthernZone by providing clinicsresponsible to the Zone Surgery Department Head (or delegate) and Zone Medical Executive Director (ZMED) for their professional responsibilities and quality of practiceProvide care and coordination of community-based care, and secondary and tertiary level health care.Participate in quality improvement and evaluation activities.Expected HoursPermanent Full-Time1:6 on call coverageRemunerationRemuneration amount -Approximately $525,000 per year, depends solely on your own clinical outputNova Scotia Health offers a variety of incentives designed to relieve some of the pressure, cost, and difficulty that comes with relocation.Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package including health and dental, EMR grants, funded locum coverage, CME funding, parental leave, physician advisors and moreAberdeen Hospital (AH), originally founded in 1895 andlocatedin the historic town of New Glasgow, is the regional acute care facility serving residents of Pictou County.Completed in 2017, the emergency department at AH underwentan extensiveredevelopment to improve the layout and workflow of the existing space. All rooms are equipped with critical care equipment, and the 25,000 square-foot space features two isolation rooms and specialty rooms including triage rooms and two trauma bays with direct access to the helipad. The Level 2 emergency department provides 24/7 access to emergency services.AH offers a wide range of primary and secondary services through inpatient, outpatient, and community-based services and programs.New Glasgow has forged itself into the metropolitan hub of the Northumberland Shore. The town’s location on the East River made it an ideal launch point for ships that were once built here, a booming industry in days gone by.
