Reporting to the Team Lead, the summer students will be responsible for ensuring the area they are assigned is managed within the design expectations with a high attention to the safety of the personal and equipment. The individual must be highly motivated and able to work in a team environment.The Student Plant Operator positions will begin **May 2026** and will be available for a **4-month term**.**Essential Functions:*** Responsible for the day-to-day operation of assigned equipment.* Set an example in safety leadership with Strathcona’s employees and contractors.* Troubleshoot and work within the team to resolve operational challenges.* Perform housekeeping, performance monitoring, and maintenance activities in the facility.* Understand and perform safety, environmental and regulatory responsibilities such as hazard identification, equipment lock out, emergency response, and implement safe working procedures.**Qualifications Include:*** Previous related experience is considered an asset: manual labor, construction, and farm hand.* Must possess a valid Class 5 driver's license.* Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.* Committed to best practices in Health, Safety and Environmental management.* Demonstrate integrity, accountability, and good decision-making skills.* Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.* Self-motivated, open-minded and results orientated.* The individual will be required to work in all weather conditions including days and night shifts.**Why Strathcona:*** At Strathcona, we’re committed to attracting top talent to join our fast-growing Canadian oil and gas team.* **Relocation & Transportation Support**: If you need help moving, we relocation assistance to make the process easier.
