In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization and with professional standards and code of ethics as outlined by the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia, the Physiotherapist works independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team providing physiotherapy services including assessment, treatment planning and implementation, program planning, consultation, equipment prescription and education of residents/clients/patients ('the client') and/or their caregivers to promote functional independence and enable the client to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes in inpatient, outpatient, residential and community settings. The Physiotherapist contributes to the organization and the overall goals of the profession, department; participates in departmental/program quality assurance initiatives, meetings, research, and education; and provides work direction to the rehabilitation assistant working with the rehabilitation team. Shift Rotation/Hours of work Monday to Friday, Days - 08:00 to 16:00 Dawson Creek & District Hospital Dawson Creek and District Hospital is a full service community hospital that provides service to Dawson Creek and surrounding communities. It has 31 Acute Care beds and 15 regional adult psychiatric beds. Dawson Creek is the Orthopaedic Trauma and Surgical centre for the Northeast Region of BC. Services include: Emergency ICU Day Surgery Respiratory Therapy Primary Care Acute Care Diagnostic Imaging Laboratory Visiting specialists include: Urology Dermatology Pediatrics Obstetrics and Gynecology Construction is underway on the new Dawson Creek & District Hospital, anticipated to open in Spring 2027. This state‑of‑the‑art facility will be over 50% bigger than the current hospital and will feature 70 beds, modern patient care spaces, and expanded and enhanced services to meet the growing needs of the community. Qualfications Current registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia. One year of recent related experience. Valid BC Driver\'s license where required. Leadership: Promotes staff morale, engagement, and risk‑taking. Demonstrates creative planning for change and innovations, implementation of NH policies or other protocols, and ongoing professional development of self and others. Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to foster teamwork and a commitment to excellence in the provision of client care. Equipment: Demonstrated computer skills including the use of applicable computer programs. Demonstrated data analysis skills including appropriate data analysis and reporting tools. Demonstrated ability in the use of e‑mail and word processing. Ability to operate other related equipment as required in the specific practice area. Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
