The Weighing Associate will foster a working environment that is clean and tidy, fair, positive, and driven to continuously improve.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain a High Level of SafetyUnderstand and foresee and report possible safety issues.Abide by health and safety guidelines prescribed by governing bodies and the TRC Environmental Health and Safety Committee.Sustain 5S and general housekeeping of work area.Promote a safe working environment.Work in a manner that does not jeopardize the safety of self or co-workers.Work safely and follow company safety policy and procedures and completing regular quality product checks.Adhere to the department 5S standards.Weigh and Verify OrdersCarefully and accurately weigh chemicals as required.Use appropriate containers and follow weighing instructions.Inspect and verify orders, and product labelling before final packaging.Prioritize chemical products to be picked according to First in First Out (FIFO)Report any loss or missing items to the Finished Goods supervisor.Communicate any potential issues to the Finished Goods team lead or supervisor.Other DutiesPerform other duties and complete additional projects as assigned.Role DimensionsWork with other members of the Finished Goods, Quality, Production, and shipping teams on processing and fulfilling customer orders and internal requirements.Work with Environment, Health & Safety team regarding environment, health and safety issues and policies.Direct ReportsNonePhysical & Working Conditions/Hybrid WorkWork closely with chemical compounds including those that are potentially toxic or classified as Dangerous Goods and ensure they are handled in accordance with safety regulations.Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including a fit-tested respirator, must be worn when handling chemicals. To ensure proper respirator fit and compliance, individuals are required to be clean-shaven.Must be available for the following start times:Morning (6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday to Friday), orAfternoon (9:30 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday)Shifts may change depending on business needs.QualificationsEducation RequirementsMinimum College diplomaCompetencies RequiredMinimum 2 years of working experience in the Finished Goods Department.Good planning & organizing skills.Have the ability to do picking activities when required.Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.Previously worked with a balance with good knowledge of measuring units.Good command of the English language.Excellent team player.Self-starter, task oriented with ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.Independently solves problems within his/her scope.Essential competencies and behaviors: Resonates and operates in line with LGC’s core value behaviors: Passion, Curiosity, Integrity, Brilliance, and RespectAdditional InformationABOUT LGC:LGC is a leading, global life science tools company, providing critically important components and solutions into high-growth application areas across the human healthcare and applied market segments.
