  • Ability to work alongside administration team
  • Prepare morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack for all classrooms, following a set menu
  • Prepare grocery order
  • Serve meals to each classroom on time, at the appropriate temperature
  • Work with staff to collect meal numbers before food preparation each day
  • Prepare appropriate amount of food for each classroom meeting all the guidelines
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including all food storage areas 
    • Ensure all thermometers are working appropriately 
    • Wash and sanitize all dishes
    • Clean kitchen and appliances throughout the day
    • Organize and put away all groceries, food orders, non-food items
  • As needed, (usually in the morning) will be in ratio working with the children until educators arrive for their shift.
  • As needed, relieve educators throughout the day for washroom break and/or lunch breaks.
Required Skills
  • Current criminal record check with vulnerable sector check 
  • Must have first aid / CPR certificate 
  • Must have or willing to obtain the food safety course
Required Experience
  • Knowledgeable on accommodating food allergies 
  • Experience preparing meals for large groups considered an asset
  • Experience preparing food for children 0-5 years of age an asset
  • Experience with young children is an asset
