Senior Network Management System (NMS/EMS) Developer Client: Hunter ScoutsLocation: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada - Hybrid (on-site 4 days/week)Contract type: Direct Hire / Full-timeContract duration: Permanent About the role Hunter Scouts is recruiting for a Network Management System Developer opportunity on behalf of a confidential, leading satellite/telecommunications company in downtown Ottawa. This role will design, build and integrate model‑driven network management capabilities used to configure, monitor and operate network elements. You'll develop YANG modules, implement EMS/NMS protocols (NETCONF/RESTCONF, gNMI/gNOI) and deliver model‑driven configuration, telemetry and monitoring workflows. The team expects on‑site collaboration 4 days per week at 160 Elgin Street, Suite 2100, Ottawa. Responsibilities Design, develop and maintain features for a Network Management System (NMS) and/or Element Management System (EMS) Develop and maintain YANG modules to model devices, services and operational state Integrate and implement EMS/NMS protocols (NETCONF/RESTCONF, gNMI/gNOI, gRPC) with network elements Implement model‑driven configuration, streaming telemetry and monitoring workflows Ensure protocol compliance, reliability and performance across managed devices Produce technical documentation and support troubleshooting and interoperability testing Requirements Must be based within a 50‑mile radius of Ottawa, ON and able to work on‑site 4 days/week; must be authorized to work in Canada Minimum 12 years' experience in network software development or network management systems engineering Hands‑on experience building or integrating Network Management Systems (NMS) or Element Management Systems (EMS) Experience developing YANG models/modules and applying UML for system/data modelling Production experience implementing NETCONF and/or RESTCONF for device configuration and management Experience with gRPC‑based telemetry and operational interfaces (gNMI/gNOI) and troubleshooting protocol integration Preferred Skills Experience in satellite communications or telecommunications networks Experience with Python, Go or Java for network automation or backend services Experience with gRPC service development and building streaming telemetry pipelines Experience with SDN controllers, network orchestration platforms or design of cloud‑native NMS components (Docker, Kubernetes) Familiarity with performance and scalability best practices for large‑scale management systems Seniority level Mid‑Senior level Employment type Full‑time Job function Information Technology and Engineering Industries IT Services and IT Consulting #J-18808-Ljbffr
