Medical Laboratory Technologist – CasualLocation: Little CurrentPosting Open Date: June 28, 2025Posting Closing Date: Until FilledStarting wage: $36.84-50.24 per hour based on experiencePOSITION SUMMARYThe Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) performs a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing, monitoring, treating, and preventing disease using prescribed methodologies whether they be totally automated, manual or a combination.The Medical Laboratory Technologist analyzes test findings and maintains required records and reports, evaluates laboratory results, and takes appropriate action, and uses quality control measures to determine the value of test procedures, equipment, solutions and reagents.QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Certifications, Experience, Licensure)Required:Three-year College Diploma in Medical Laboratory TechnologyCurrent professional registration and licensure with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of OntarioProof of COVID-19 full immunizationPreferred:Recent/related experience in hospital settingCertification in Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG)COMPETENCIES/TECHNICALTeamwork and CollaborationService and Quality OrientationLeadership PresenceCOMPETENCIES/TECHNICALProficient in specimen collection, handling, and processingPoint of Care System proficiencyKnowledge of and proficiency in handling and interpreting various quality control samples including internal, external, and blind duplicatesAbility to problem solve/troubleshoot and apply critical thinking skills to constructively investigate, evaluate and solve technical issuesKnowledge of test principles and performance specifications for various analytical techniquesKnowledge to interpret, document and report results on a variety of specimensProficient in Microsoft Platform (Word, Excel, and Outlook); Policy & Procedures and Learning Management SystemProficient in Meditech Lab moduleKnowledge of and proficiency in instrument maintenance and function checksHOW TO APPLYPlease email a cover letter and resume to Human Resources at recruitment@mhc.on.caPlease reference Job Posting # 2025-OP-05 in the subject line and your cover letter.Applicants with the required qualifications may be interviewed.Thank you to all who apply.Manitoulin Health Centre is strongly committed to diversity within its community and especially welcomes applications from racialized persons / persons of colour, women, Indigenous / Aboriginal People, persons with disabilities, LGBTQ persons, and others who may contribute to the further diversification of ideas. #J-18808-Ljbffr
