ResponsibilitiesThe primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:Manage comprehensive Material Planning and Logistics (MP&L) functions, including engineering change control, production scheduling, distribution, and Ford Customer Service Division (FCSD) requirements.Direct end-to-end supply chain operations and customer release fulfillment to ensure Just-in-Time (JIT) material flow and prevent production disruptions.Coordinate with external logistics providers and manage supplier capacity constraints to resolve bottlenecks and ensure consistent part availability.Respond proactively to customer changes, shipping adjustments, schedule shifts, and quality containments.Oversee inventory strategy, including stockpiling, balance-outs, and cycle verification programs to minimize obsolescence and waste.Perform regular inventory audits and "waste walks" to maintain record accuracy and process integrity.Provide logistical support during quality campaigns and develop specialized customer support plans.Communicate critical logistics and scheduling issues to plant and division management while ensuring all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met.Identify supply chain gaps and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.Support plant objectives regarding "Time and Data Management" and "Policy Deployment."Coach and mentor employees on performance and career development while ensuring all departmental training requirements are met. QualificationsEducation:College Diploma or Skilled-Trade Certificate of Qualification (CoQ). (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of completion for the highest level of education attained. If the diploma/degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required).Experience:4+ years’ experience working in Material Planning and Logistics.1+ years experience with supply chain management.1+ years’ experience working with and supervising unionized workforce and understanding of CBA. (collective bargaining agreement)Ability to work independently with limited supervision.Even better, you may have...Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Operations, Transportation & Logistics, Supply Chain Management & Information Systems, Applied Engineering Science, Packaging Engineering, or Business Management.Experience:Experience in body shop, stamping, paint, subassembly, or machining preferred.Inventory and Logistics management experience preferred.Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and constraint management principles.Demonstrate leadership in ONE FORD (leadership) behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook).Prior experience managing a unionized workforce.Adept problem-solving and conflict management skills.This posting is for an existing vacancy within our team.The expected annual salary range for this position is $87,000 - $137,000 and individuals may be eligible to participate in our Annual Compensation bonus program.Our focus is to build the best team.
