Job Details Department: Health, Wellness & Sciences Campus: Barrie Classification: Support Staff Posting Date: November 18, 2025 Hourly Pay Range: $25.34 – $35.83 per hour Hours Per Week: Up to 24 hrs per week Status: Part-Time (Casual) Responsibilities Conduct individual occupational therapy sessions with OTA/PTA students under OT supervision at assigned placement sites, either on or off campus. Participate as a member of the clinic multidisciplinary teams/committees to promote quality service within the full scope of practice of an OTA. Support, demonstrate and provide practical learning resources and opportunities to reinforce theory taught by faculty. Monitor/observe client response to treatment and keep the supervising OT informed. Provide training and education to clients, families, and caregivers regarding therapeutic strategies. Collaborate with clients, families, and/or other caregivers to provide patient-centered care. Provide orientation to site-specific policies and procedures to OTA/PTA students and monitor compliance during clinical activities. Support and guide students, ensuring application of classroom learning in the clinical environment, including skills refreshers and remediation as appropriate. Mentor students through clerical duties expected in future OTA/PTA workplaces (e.g., client scheduling, financial transactions, appointment reminders). Administrative Support Organize and maintain clinic equipment and materials (on campus). Photocopy and create therapy materials as required for individual clients. Prepare documents on interventions, treatment responses, and client participation using approved format. Maintain accurate client attendance records in the client health record. Promote a safe and healthy work environment using the clinic’s infection control procedures. Support client recruitment activities through sharing and developing marketing materials (for on‑campus clinic). Qualifications Successful completion of at least a 2‑year diploma in Occupational Therapist Assistant or Physiotherapist Assistant from an accredited program. At least 2 years of experience delivering occupational therapy services under OT direction. Experience working with students or in a mentorship role (asset). Familiarity with the Guidelines for Professional Standards per the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral). Computer literacy skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Excellent time‑management skills. Demonstrated knowledge of privacy legislation as it pertains to healthcare settings.Current knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control Guidelines in the healthcare setting. Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records systems (asset).
