OverviewRole and Facility InformationCome work as a Staff Anesthesiologist with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) The Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Care at Vancouver Acute is searching for a full-time Anesthesiologist to join our team. With over 70 members, we are one of the largest anesthesia departments in Canada and provide all anesthesia care at Vancouver Acute’s two acute care hospitals, Vancouver General Hospital and University of British Columbia Hospital.Members of the department are involved in all aspects of adult anesthesia sub-specialty care including perioperative medicine, intraoperative anesthesia care, critical care and pain management in an academic and quaternary care setting. Vancouver Acute is British Columbia’s provincial referral centre for a large number of surgical programs including; neurosurgery, cardiac surgery (including major aortic reconstruction), thoracic surgery, spine surgery, transplant surgery (liver, lung, kidney and pancreas), complex urological, gynecological and general oncology surgery, complex joint reconstruction and robotic surgery. Vancouver General Hospital is also a level 1 trauma centre. Vancouver Acute is a core academic site of the Department of Anesthesiology, Pharmacology and Therapeutics at the University of British Columbia. We are actively involved in Quality Improvement, Research and Education of medical students, residents and sub-specialty fellows. Apply today to join our teamResponsibilitiesProvide anesthesia care across a range of subspecialties in an academic and quaternary care setting, including perioperative medicine, intraoperative anesthesia, critical care and pain management.Deliver anesthesia services at Vancouver General Hospital and University of British Columbia Hospital as part of a large departmental team.Contribute to quality improvement, research, and education initiatives for medical students, residents, and subspecialty fellows.QualificationsEligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia and with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.Completed applicable sub-specialty fellowship training.Current clinical expertise in a tertiary healthcare setting.Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) – MandatoryAnaesthesia experience – MandatoryAdvanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – MandatoryResume required to apply for this position.Vaccination and ComplianceAs per the current Public Health Orders, as of October 26, 2021, all employees and medical staff working for Vancouver Coastal Health must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
