Project Execution Engineer

Toronto, Canada Insight Global Full time

Insight Global is looking to hire a Project Execution Engineer to join one of Alberta's largest Utility organization on a 6-month contract, with high potential to extend. This ideal candidate will sit in either Calgary or Edmonton, and must work in office 3 days/week. This resource will manage contractors to deliver a variety of pipeline and facility projects that aim to build sustainable and affordable natural gas pipeline systems.
Day-to-day responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Develop project plans, timelines and budgets. Oversee entire project lifecycles from initiation to completion.
Coordinate contractors across engineering teams to monitor performance and ensure quality checks are completed
Manage multiple projects at a given time and ensure they adhere to all codes, policies, timelines and budgets
Contribute to the scope development and evaluation of projects during initiation.
Communicate/coordinate with various stakeholders, including internal teams (engineering, land, construction, operations, procurement, etc.) and external partners (consultants, contractors, vendors, etc.)
Responsible for ensuring project specific conceptual and detailed technical design are adequately completed, primarily in the areas of pipeline, piping, facilities, or integrity engineering

Must Haves:
12+ years of experience within relevant fields/positions
Experience in managing contractors within the design, project administration, construction of pipelines or pipeline facility projects
Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
Ability to manage a portfolio/program of projects
Previous experience working with large enterprise organizations within Energy, Utilities, and/or Oil & Gas
Experience leading projects that adhere to standard engineering codes and procedures
Professional Engineer registered with APEGA
Must have personal laptop to utilize for the duration of the contract
Willingness to travel occasionally between Calgary and Edmonton

Experience managing integrity projects preferred (ex. Cathodic Protection, Anode Beds, leak detection)
