If you’re interested in tackling unique challenges and think you have what it takes to level up our team, we encourage you to applyWhat We NeedWe are seeking a versatile and committed Software Engineer specializing in Tool and Pipeline Development. This crucial role ensures our content creation teams—including art, design, and animation—have highly efficient and stable tools to maximize production velocity. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across diverse systems, including extending commercial software like the Unreal Engine 5 (UE5) Editor and maintaining proprietary studio technology (e.g., custom asset tracking tools). This position requires proven skill in C++ and Python and a genuine passion for optimizing developer workflows.What You’ll DoMaintain and stabilize proprietary backend systems critical for content and large‑scale data pipeline integrity.Architect and develop new tools using C++ and Python to automate key tasks and fill workflow gaps.Customize and extend the Unreal Engine Editor using C++ and scripting to provide highly tailored features for our content teams.Collaborate with artists and designers to rapidly prototype and deploy intuitive, user‑friendly applications.Ensure code health and system robustness through code reviews, debugging, and performance profiling.Create clear documentation and training on all new tool features to ensure smooth adoption by the development team.What Will Make You A Great Fit3+ years of software development experience, preferably in tool development, pipeline automation, or production engineering.High proficiency and working with both C++ and Python in a professional environment.Experience interacting with Asset Management systems, and an understanding of asset management pipelines.Demonstrated ability to efficiently analyze large codebases and quickly diagnose complex maintenance issues.Strong understanding of the full asset pipeline, from DCC creation to final in‑engine game setup.A highly collaborative approach and proven experience bridging the needs between engineering and creative teams.Beneficial QualificationsDirect experience extending the Unreal Engine 5 Editor using C++ (Slate/UMG) or advanced Editor Scripting techniques.Experience with full‑stack web application development, particularly developing REST API services.Familiarity with other languages like C# or desktop UI frameworks (e.g., PySide) for cross‑platform tool development.The pay range for this position in British Columbia at the start of employment is expected to be between CAD 71,400 – CAD 105,660 per year. However, actual pay offered is based on market location and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
