Labourer - Telecom Construction

DescriptionYou are an experienced Utility Construction labourer with knowledge of underground utility or civil construction and maintenance. You will be responsible for performing general day to day duties and operating equipment alongside other crew members to complete work safely and efficiently, under the direction of the foreperson.Learn more about working at Ledcor: Watch hereEssential ResponsibilitiesCompletes regular vehicle maintenance checks and associated paperworkDrives cube van or 3-ton dump truck with trailer in towKeeps crew vehicles clean and organizedWorks with crew members to perform tasks (excavating pits, rod, and rope conduits, placing underground cables in conduits, assisting in directional bore operations, removing and replacing concrete and asphalt, etc.)Operates light equipment and lifts heavy items (up to 50 lbs.)Reads underground utility locates and ensures safe digging practices are always being adhered toAssists in restoring job sites back to their original stateMaintains a healthy and safe work environment for the crew, the public, the customer, and LedcorQualificationsMust have a valid G driver’s license and a clean driver abstractExperience working in the underground utility construction, civil construction or landscaping is an assetCapable of reading underground telecommunication plans and work mapsStrong time management skills with the ability to attend to a broad range of activitiesTechnically adept with a strong ability to learn quickly, analyze information, and problem solveCapable of writing clearly and succinctly for different forms of communicationWorking ConditionsTravel to various sites in the surrounding Kitchener/Milton, ON areaWork primarily outdoors on various terrains and in all weather conditions.May require working in confined spaces, at heights, and near energized equipment.Compensation$29.12 - $38.25 per hourThis is the applicable wage range for this position. Individuals will be assigned a base wage within this range based on trade certification and/or apprenticeship level, industry experience, and work location.Remote, site-based positions may be eligible for additional incentives including but not limited to travel and accommodation allowances.We are committed to the long-term success and wellbeing of our employees.
