Are you adept at navigating the intricate landscape of materials procurement? Do you thrive in a dynamic environment where each day presents new challenges and opportunities? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our client as a Buyer in their Stoney Creek location.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with sales and warehouse teams to assess incoming material needs, calculate requirements, and initiate requisitions.
Efficiently input purchase orders into the system, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Monitor material availability and track deliveries, taking proactive measures to ensure adherence to established timelines.
Investigate and resolve issues related to material availability, delivery, and pricing, offering recommendations for improvement when necessary.
Manage returns to suppliers and restocking procedures, including verifying customer returns and facilitating necessary adjustments to inventory levels.
Seek opportunities to optimize costs and pricing through strategic sourcing and comparative analysis of freight rates.
Foster effective communication and coordination among various company locations to streamline material purchases and maintain cost-effectiveness.
Source, negotiate, and procure office supplies and maintenance items as needed.
Monitor and redistribute slow-moving or overstocked materials, taking appropriate action to minimize waste and maintain inventory efficiency.
Support warehouse physical inventory activities as required.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is an asset
Proven experience in materials procurement, preferably in a fast-paced manufacturing or distribution environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and departments.
Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.
Proficiency in MS Office applications and familiarity with procurement software systems.
