About the job

We are looking for Cloud Systems Engineers located in Poland to join our growing remote production operations team. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining strict production SLAs of a custom distributed application running on AWS cloud infrastructure, monitoring, alerting, incident management, security, and overall platform stability and improvement.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of:

  1. AWS
  2. Experience with various Linux OS distributions (CentOS, Ubuntu, AWS Linux)
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  4. Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
  5. Intermediate scripting knowledge
  6. Solid ability to write intermediate SQL
  7. Experience with monitoring solutions and metric analysis
  8. Understanding and ability to troubleshoot network communication issues

The Cloud Systems Engineer will be responsible for:

  1. Maintain, monitor, and help improve the performance and availability of the 24x7 production environment including networks, servers, databases, etc.
  2. Identification of root causes on critical problems throughout the platform, incident reports and communication
  3. Troubleshooting and supporting our production and QA environments
  4. Follow established internal workflows for resolving customer requests/tickets
  5. Participate in on-call rotation and provide hands-on support during emergencies, outages, and service transitions
  6. Participate in creating long-term and short term strategies for scaling the production environment
  7. Continuous improvement in system visibility and applications with advanced monitoring, metrics and log analytics
  8. Adhere to a comprehensive incident management program including problem management
  9. Generate KPIs for service availability, uptime, and adherence to SOPs, and SLAs
Is this opportunity right for you?

We are looking for candidates who have:

  1. 3 + years’ experience with 24x7 production operations
  2. At least 2 years’ experience with Linux server administration
  3. Experience with Amazon Web Services (EC2, ECS, S3, etc.)
  4. Intermediate scripting skills (Bash, Python)
  5. Intermediate SQL skills
  6. Technical knowledge of several monitoring and analytics tools such as AWS CloudWatch, Sumologic, Datadog
  7. Experience with Docker, Vagrant, Ansible, Kubernetes
  8. Experience maintaining a secure production environment for US based customers
  9. BS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent professional experience
