This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial, highly driven person with a well-rounded skill set to join the Forensic Engineering & Architecture team, whose responsibilities extend beyond those of traditional Mechanical Engineers. The ideal person for this role will need to not only have a strong grasp of Mechanical Engineering, but also be flexible and a strategic thinker able to take on a variety of tasks.The Job Responsibilities Include:Conduct field inspections and loss analysis, testing, and data collectionPrepare technical reports detailing the cause of damage/failure, damage observed, and test resultsPerform desk reviews and field assessments of property loss to develop repair scopeWork with the insured and contractors to reach agreement on the scope of repairsReview and analyze building codes and industry standards, working with code officials as needed, to identify system requirementsPresent analysis and assessment findings to colleagues and clientsConduct research and develop technical topics for publicationManage multiple project assignments and execute them on time and within budgetSupport in retention and development of client relationshipsQualificationsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Master level is a plus.Registered Professional Engineer with Canadian provinces (P.Eng.)5 – 10 years of mechanical equipment/system design or production/construction experienceForensic, failure analysis, or troubleshooting experience.Experience in evaluating/maintaining mechanical systems and loss/condition assessment of the components (such as Plumbing, Piping Fixtures, Fire Sprinkler, HVAC systems) used in residential, commercial, or industrial facilities.Experience with failure analysis and loss assessment of the components (Heat Exchanger, Boiler, Turbine, Pressure Vessel, Underground Pipeline, Cooling Tower) used in commercial or industrial facilitiesAnalytical and problem-solving skillsStrong verbal, writing, and interpersonal skillsComputer skills (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint)Ambitious, self-motivated, hands-on, and team orientedA desire to learn, excel and grow with us and within the professionAble to travel to sites when necessaryPreferred Qualifications:P.Eng in Ontario or Quebec preferredExperience in Machinery, Equipment Loss Assessment and Conducted equipment loss investigation for the industrial machineries used in manufacturing facilities and heavy-duty machines used for construction and transportation.Experience in failure analysis and loss assessment of Electro-Mechanical Instruments & Systems.It is an advantage to be involved in engineering projects and consulted on major and complex insurance losses.Physical And Mental Job Qualifications:Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.Must be able to travel to various project sites and conduct field investigations.Must be able to work in hot and cold environments, both indoors and outdoors.Physically able to climb, stand, walk, kneel, and crouch for extended periods.Additional Information:We welcome applications from individuals with disabilities.
